And then the Rap God himself (Jason White of course) finishes the track with the most hardcore gangsta rapping ever. I also hope this track is 13 minutes long. I am hoping for a rap feature, just not what you describe lol

Well there's no 13 minute song on this album. (Unless it's a hidden track)

KGLWW
21 minutes ago, ANTI said: The fact that you can't even name Kendrick Lamar, who is like THE token hip-hop artists for music elitists is so telling. I know the discussion changed a little in the last page, but I'll answer to this only cause I'm so sick of hip-hop being trashed in rock circles. Since you probably haven't heard Kendrick, here's an example of one of his biggest hits Alright, which mixes jazz, funk and soul into a amazingly delivered song. I would recommend the entire album, To Pimp a Butterfly, pointed by the majority of music outlets as the album of the decade along with My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye. Another song from his latest album I would recommend is Element. I see a lot of people badmouthing mainstream hip-hop, but honestly huge hits like This is America, which mixes trap and afrofunk and sould, Sicko Mode, which mixes trap and psychedelia and even Old Town Road, which mixes country and trap, and is even uses a Nine Inch Nails sample as a chore beat, have shown way more sound dinamics and originality than most rock songs in the last years. That's not even getting into more critically acclaimed artists from 2019 like Tyler, with songs like A Boy is a Gun with neo-soul influences, Little Simz with Offence working around a very grime sound, JPEGMafia with Jesus Forgive me I'm a Thot, which has a amazing mix of Industrial and R&B and Injury Reserve with a song like Jailbreak the Tesla with a glitch inspired sound. Honestly, the examples are endless, and this are only songs from the last two years. I hope you can actually take the time to listen more before discrediting an entire genre of music, especially if you only lift up white artists in a genre that was born historically as a space to give voice to the black community. It's legitimate to not like hip-hop, but that doesn't mean you can negate how much it has helped change (and in my opinion evolve) the mainstream music scene as a whole. Can we just stop this. Everyone is pretentious. Everyone is hypocritical and everyone has tastes. Not every artist can be enjoyed by everyone

Thanks for your constructive recommendations, I have checked out this song and while it's not particularly to my tastes (its quite electronic), it is refreshing to hear artists in this genre still making use of real instruments and creating out of passion. I am about to start work but I will check out the other ones you posted afterwards to see if there are any that click with me. Thanks again! I’m not a Longshot fan because to me it sounds like 80s rock. It’s retrospective, not at all forward-thinking. I love that now they’re doing something much more modern and that is a variation in their normal sound. Holy crap....I'm not the only one?! I think The Longshot is fine, but it didn't connect with me like it did with others. To me it just sounded like classic garage rock, which is fine, but it didn't do much for me. I'm willing to listen to it again and see if my mind has changed, but as of now I don't get the heaps upon heaps of praise the album gets.
Sanity Loan
I don’t think I’ve seen this fan base before with such polarizing opinions about a song. There’s nothing wrong with that, I find it fascinating.

They want them to repeat history, which they absolutely cannot do, either with recreating the Dookie young punk thing or the AI opus thing. That’s not gonna happen and it shouldn’t. I agree. I don’t want them to either. I want them to be 100% themselves, just with slightly better mixing and mastering lol. And I totally respect people not liking the new sound, but they also have to respect that the band may wanna actually make music like this and they aren’t just trying to sell out. pacejunkie punk
I honestly believe that based on whatever music Billie has been into lately that this is the music he wants to make right now. legendary
Is interesting how polarized GD fans opinions are now, but maybe I know why. Green Day has so much different phases/sounds in his carreer that brings fans of many types of music. I know fans who likes Green Day and Metallica, Muse, Rancid, Coldplay, Offspring, Bad Religion, Jonas Brothers, NOFX, Britney Spears, Blink 182, The Chainsmokers and more. So, Green Day have this power, they reunite many styles... and now seems to do this one more time, adding new things in their sound and getting more fans with a new direction. I also think they wanted to do this after the trilogy instead of revrad. I think revrad was very real lyrically and they did wanna write that once they got into the vibe of it, but you can even hear aspects of the singles from foam in songs on revrad and Longshot. Songs that stand out with this are turn me loose, say goodbye, troubled times, Love is for losers, soul surrender and more. I think Green Day was uneasy about expanding on the trilogy sound due to negative reactions, and that’s where the Longshot songs came from (Tre even said a lot of those are discarded Green Day songs). 3 minutes ago, legendary said: Is interesting how polarized GD fans opinions are now, but maybe I know why.
