Just shut up boomer

the 3 singles are good for 2020

a Restless Heart Syndrome would sound « has been » if it be released today

World changes, time goes by and music evolves, Green Day try to adapt themselves the current context and for now they’re doing well

The current context sucks though. Green Day has never been a band that adapts to anything. Everytime they become really huge they brought something different and new to the table. Green Day making punk mainstream or creating spectacular rock opera (twice) is not following trends. Hell, Green Day is basically it’s own genre.

My mom said she loved it and how they can always change up their sound, and I for one thought that was cute.

Okay. I love the song now. I first took a couple of listen this morning.

Then I was listening to the song on Spotify while doing laundry and I fucking love it!

Or maybe it's a laundry song.

can’t imagine this being the worst Green Day song when FRA exists

I don't even rate that as a song - its just a jingle.

When I listened to it this morning I thought GD are trolling us - how can a band give us Bang Bang & then produce this shit.

I didn’t think I could dislike a Green Day song so much like this one :( For me now it is:

FRA: 3.5/5

FOAM: 3/5

Oh Yeah: 1/5

I get that but at least to me, they keep making music that's interesting. Some of these other longtime acts can't even do that.

I know which album will be your worst for 2020 - look forward to your blog at the end of the year🤣

Hey everyone turns out Jorgemas was a banned member back with a dupe account. Won't see him no more. So now we can just enjoy the new song.

Was it the bird man? Haha

If oh yeah is a 9 what is jos for example? Or restless heart syndrome? Or even older songs like One of my lies? It's like Green day have been mediocre for so long their fans have forgotten when they where actually good and Billie was one of the best if not the best lyricist in his genre.

JoS is the only song on that list I'd put above "Oh Yeah!" in terms of how much I like it. I have been a die hard since 95 and I'm in love with all three songs we've gotten from this album so far.

Green Day will never have another radio hit. People keep saying that but it hasn't happened since 2009.

Still Breathing & Bang Bang got heaps of airplay here,

It's so anti climactic. On my first listen I was waiting for that moment, like where the song starts out slow and then builds up to something incredible and when you think its about to kick in it just dies.

By 2/3 of the way through I literally was facepalming and hoping that the moment would come and it just doesn't. The real chorus fails so it feels like a pre-chorus and then you get the song fully relying on the super generic (oh yeah) part and it just doesn't land.

I really want to see what others see in this music, I get it the lyrics are a step up but as I said before the lyrics alone don't make a song. That's what rap is for.

Not really, commercial rap hasn't involved good music since the 2000s, all I hear is a generic tune on loop over and over again with someone talking over the top of it.

I guess our differences is what makes the world turn because I am the polar opposite to your comment.

The song lacks a proper chorus in my opinion, the verses are fine. Gonna be interesting to see this performed live.

Agreed. The verse is the best part of the song for me and even that borrows a bit too much from Too Dumb to Die. I think the "Bulletproof Backpack" line is pretty badass though.

Hey, I am open minded and I would be willing to listen to your definition of a modern rap song with great music.
