All Alternative according to iTunes Today’s pop has a very strong R&B/hip hop influence. You really don’t hear anything on mainstream radio that doesn’t have that influence. So alternative is anything else now.
killjoywhatsername
I like this song a lot. FOAM might beat it out for best out of the three but this comes close. The lyrics are a step up from the other two.

PursuitOfEpicness
Do you guys interpret the lyrics specifically pertaining to active shooters, like bang bang? Or just social media in general? To me it’s almost like he’s using the active shooter persona as a metaphor for social media but it works literally too.

realDonaldTrump
at the end of the day, green day are the beatles of punk rock. yes they definitely go outside that realm but they have the right. so far as bad as this album is, they didn’t go the blink route and i respect them for that (they’ve been cringe at times but whatever). i truly fucking hate butch as a producer though — but this is as bad as it will get and it’s not SO bad. I expect the next album to be very very good, not a magnum opus or a rock opera but just a flat out undeniable pure green day ALBUM.

Blink keep been doing what they have been doing almost their whole career which is play pop punk music. Putting them down to lift green day is stupid. The Beatles of punk rock, if there is such a thing, are The Clash.

RedundantIdiot
I love this song and the video! Unlike FOAM and FRA which took a few listens until they grew on me, I instantly liked this song. Oh Yeah! 9/10 Foam 8.5/10 Fra 8/

This song however isnt great and people are allowed to have different opinions on it without being "single minded". Don't presume you know all the reasons why people like or dislike something. What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with what I said. Maybe you should go back and read it again? I’m not sure what you’re not comprehending that you keep going back to those same points. And I might point out that I’ve actually liked the critical comments on here that I agree with. I’m not all in on this song.

I don't know if I'd say they're the Beatles of punk rock...If they were the beatles, they would have broke up shortly after 21CB and Billie/Mike/Tre would all have successful solo careers haha. Don't hate the song - don't love the song. Probably won't go back to it until the album - It'll be a good crowd song live depending how they change it up/rock-ify it. Time shall tell - only 3 weeks now!

Or restless heart syndrome? Or even older songs like One of my lies? It's like Green day have been mediocre for so long their fans have forgotten when they where actually good and Billie was one of the best if not the best lyricist in his genre. Just shut up boomer the 3 singles are good for 2020 a Restless Heart Syndrome would sound « has been » if it be released today World changes, time goes by and music evolves, Green Day try to adapt themselves the current context and for now they’re doing well
