Man the vocal filters bother me so much. Wish he'd cut it out.

I don't think they bother me on this song. At least not nearly to the extent as the last two.

I like the "everybody is a staaaar" part, it has serious 80s vibes to me. Too bad the rest of the song doesn't slap as hard :( Not enough to redeem the song or the album imo.

The lyrics are so far the strongest out of everything we have so far tho, imo

Totally and they break my heart. Damn Billie with his happy-sad heavy-lighthearted lyrics in disguise 😭 I felt nothing after listening to the first two singles, but this one is giving me the feels. I think I really like this song.

After replaying the vid few times I think is a really strong vid. Very meaningful

Song is also good, but it still needs a solo, haha

I'm not sure... is there anything more except for the oh yeah part?

The entire song sounds like a copy to me. A bit slower, but a copy none the less

Hey everyone turns out Jorgemas was a banned member back with a dupe account. Won't see him no more. So now we can just enjoy the new song.

Kind of sad that so many Green Day fans don’t know the difference between pop and alternative, and surprisingly intolerant of anything out of their comfort zone. It must suck to be so single minded. You’re missing out on a lot of good stuff.

Not criticizing people who have genuine complaints about the song itself. Just the “Oh my god! RIP Green Day! Pop trash! Bring back my band!” You’re actually the ones who are boring.

An alternative song isnt automatically better than a pop song. I love pop songs. This song however isnt great and people are allowed to have different opinions on it without being "single minded". Don't presume you know all the reasons why people like or dislike something.

Been saying this, good to see someone else notices this 😂

Same. "aint it funny how we're running out of hope" speaks to me on a deep level.

I'm more disappointed that so many people freaked out because they thought a rapper would be on the track or in the video and neither happened.

The verse sounds like the melody of a Selena Gomez song I used to hear on Disney Channel, “Falling Down”.

BUT - I think it’s the strongest song of the 3. It’s not like amazing to me, and I still think it could be more “Green Day” but I think the lyrics are good and I think it’s produced better than FRA.

I was feeling hopeless about this album but I listened to all three songs in a row and it clicked, at least the fluidity. They go with each other very well. I don’t think this album by any means will be my favorite but I think it will be a very easy album to listen to.

i also think it’s great they’re donating money to RAINN, and to another organization but idk what that one is.

You’re missing my point entirely. I’m not saying people can’t criticize the song, and some of the criticisms are said in a thoughtful manner. It’s the over-the-top bullshit that is just not a good look. The ones who are stating “This is crap!” and so forth with no real critique and with the assurance that they are right and everyone else’s opinion doesn’t matter. And of course I know there’s bad alternative music. I would just expect people to know the difference between that and pop. This is nowhere close to current mainstream pop.

Eh. Probably the worst of the three. Just my opinion, but lauding these tracks as "something new" is a low low bar when you consider that these guys have been in the music business for 30+ years, and their "something new" appears to be songs that a 2004 indie band would think twice about releasing.

"Shooting star of a lowered expectation?" What's with this juxtaposition = depth nonsense? Queen of the Garbage? Winner of the Losers? Grabbing the two ends of a spectrum and slamming them together into a line in a song as if it really means something is lazy. I felt like RevRad had a lot of bumpersticker catch phrases, but these three.... oh boy.

And speaking of RevRad, the melody (the part that isn't lifted from Joan Jett) sound like a first draft of Too Dumb To Die.

tbh the more and more I listen to this it sounds more and more like something that could've been on revrad or something out of the longshot, (I know I've already said this but that time I was talking about how it sounded from my first impression of the first time listening lol) but like, this could've replaced Outlaws and I wouldn't have noticed much difference in vibe

It could still happen in another song (I personally hope it doesn't though). Why would they post pics with him and tease some sort of cooperation when there's nothing? Honestly, at this point I think everything is possible in this crazy rollercoaster ride aka FOAM era😂

Yeah, that part is weird. I wonder if it's what we originally thought. That they make a cameo in his video. Or maybe it's for a remix version? I don't know.

Honestly, down to interpretation. That line really speaks to me on a personal level, as someone who was always viewed by other people as a "smart" "bright" kid, but grew up feeling like a failure with very low expectations for themselves
