My friend from Sarchasm (opening band) said the powder was cigarette ashes and it was on the table long before Billie and the rest of the band showed up :) So please don't speculate away!!!

that’s not cigarette ash, it’s chunky as fuck and purely white. it’s fine he can do what he wants though

Who the hell leave this much ashes on table? Do they not care about tidy at all?

Wonder if there's any reason they named it "Fire Ready Aim" as opposed to "Ready Aim Fire"

I have feeling this will be Green Days most acclaimed album since either 21st Century or American Idiot

Rock stars aren’t the cleanest, tidiest folks.

I’m trying to think of the album as kind of like a Hulu v Netflix series in its release. With Hulu a series is doled out slowly an episode a week so you can enjoy it over a longer period of a time and not binge it all at once. With Netflix although it may be awesome to get a ten episode series handed to you all at once to binge, it’s over too quickly and then you have a longer wait for the next season.

I’m thinking of this method as more like a Hulu series allowing me to enjoy the album over a slow five month rollout instead of a single day binge.  👍

Thanks for that.  I had to work pretty hard to avoid all the leaks with Revrad as I have always preferred hearing an album as a whole and have realised there is no way I’m going to manage that with FOAM but this is a good way to look at it.

I like the bouncy sounding guitar riff and I like that BJA sounds like he toned down the voice filters here a bit but I'm not a fan off all the clapping and the "woooo" at the beginning. Overall the song will probably be pretty good can't wait to here the full thing

Thank you for coming to my review

I like how the chorus goes like a loop “Ready, aim, fire, fire, ready, aim”. Sounds cool, but for some mysterious reason I get a KYE vibe from this, I hope it will be faster, funnier and shorter :D

I find amazing that Mike is keeping that golden suite, he must be in love with it 😄

I don't know how I feel about t two year partnership between Green Day and the NHL. As a person who has no interest in sports whatsoever, this seems a bit much. A few months to a year maybe, but why two years?

Probably it just means that NHL will be able to use their songs for promotional reasons for two years. If they actually want to make this the “NHL anthem” it makes sense. For the guys it means $$$ and constant media exposure, I think it is a win win situation.

Can I also say that this is a huuuuuge improvement from the Angry Birds Facebook videogame? 😅

People here really want Billie to ruin his life with drugs. Imagine preferring the reality of a ruined man who, in his stupor, made one "bad" song over the reality of a sober, healthy man who made a song you don't like.

He made a trilogy of bad songs but go off I guess

Its a...not a pun but...play on words? Of it. Ready Aim Fire means you get ready, you aim, and then you fire. This is you fire (shoot), get ready, and then aim. Sort of a "Shoot first, worry about consequences later/ask questions later" thing, or firing before you're ready meaning you're doing something before you've really prepared for it.

That's too hard don't you think. I mean... Nuclear Family, Stay the Night, Carpe Diem, Kill the DJ, Sweet 16, Rusty James, Oh Love, SWTRLF, Lazy Bones, Wild One, Makeout Party, Stray Heart, Amy, Brutal Love, Missing You, X-Kid, SDV, Amanda, DRB, 99 Revolutions, The Forgotten. You honestly think these are bad songs?

Sweet 16 is fucking awful. I do love many Trilogy songs however. You named a lot of them.

The Forgotten is the worst Green Day song ever recorded. No contest.

I think there would be some competitors in that contest. Someone said @Nightlife

The intention here is to focus on the singles and not worry so much about the album as a thing so for anyone who is hoping to wait to experience the album as a whole, I would suggest don’t, because they are really making the promotion all about the singles and you’ll miss the fun of these five months. The eventual album will just be the final cherry on the cake.

Because one hockey season alone would end at the start of the Hella Mega tour next summer otherwise and with the album coming in February and the tour likely continuing through 2020 they would want the cross promotion to continue through the entire Father Of All... promotion cycle. Two full hockey seasons would cover it completely.

And? There's lots of songs I don't care for. Doesn't mean I'm an asshole about. You act like a martyr because you don't like a song.

Yeah I guess that's the intention behind it and that's the way music works nowadays, but it's still a bit hard for me to adjust because GD albums (or albums in general) are always one whole piece of art for me. They follow a dramaturgy, even if they're not meant to be concept albums, and I love how they unfold their meaning when you listen to them from start to finish. It's just kind of sad to see that listening to music that way seems to be a dying art form and that there's no market for concept albums anymore.

I wouldn’t despair. There really wasn’t a market for them when they did American Idiot either but they did it anyway because that’s the record they wanted to make at the time and didn’t care. I trust these guys to always do that it’s just that this collection of short fun songs is the record they want to make now.

Usually I agree with you, I love listening to their albums start to finish that just may not be the case with this one. It doesn’t mean they won’t craft a whole album as listening experience again sometime in the future when the mood or inspiration hits, but before they also had to do that contractually and now they don’t.  They have said they would like to release more singles and eps and various things now without the constraint of an album contract or schedule so they may be thinking in these terms for at least the foreseeable future.
