Songs can actually be very short if you cut out any solos or extended instrumental between verses. This song doesn't sound short.

When the next album comes out, by the way? Can't wait to see what they are preparing for us after the Foamf era

What more do I need? Evidence?

People feel disappointed and then decide to believe in this secret album theory because they don't want to accept the fact that GD are making an album they know they're not going to like much

I highly disagree. They believe it because the suggestive evidence is overwhelming

To me it just feels like a 2 minute blob. Its like a loop track playing with Billie just freestyling vocals over the top, nothing really stands out. For a song that is shorter than 2 minutes, it really feels like it drags on. Thank god for the hockey video, after watching that it sorta brought a bit of life into the song for me.

Remember that first time you heard Jesus of Suburbia and it pretty much changed your life? Well, this was pretty much the opposite.

I've been listening to Warning recently and i really miss billie joe's raw voice in the songs. Songs from foamf seems like like a completely different person or maybe he's just getting older idk

Where is this overwhelming evidence? Because Billie's used the word "troll" in the description of a youtube video? That's not evidence but what other "evidence" do you have that's "overwhelming"?

they talking more about the tour than the new album in interviews.

billie saying GD  releasing more music aside from the next album next year. you dont even released the new album and you are talking about the next thing?

billie saying he hate long songs,

the album last 26 the minimum for a record.

MOOTIK leak still online (fake or not).  and please listen the last clip, if that is not green day at is best i dont know. this song sound like long song.

and now the troll thing

With Father of all.... there’s at least some cool lyrics and it sounds more pop punk in GD’s style. FOA isn’t a great song by means compared to their other work. But it’s catchy. This song is just super forgettable and boring. I can make out maybe like 3-4 words? It’s like they’re not even trying with songs on the album, lol. After hearing this, I’m even less excited about the Album. Oh well.

*nervously looks around

I don't mind the song. It's short and catchy. I really like Billie's vocals on it, especially when he gets that kind of bellowing, guttural sound.

Now a few things I have to bring up to some of the complaints I've seen here.

1) People freaking out about this NHL partnership/song release...they've done this frequently in the past. Know Your Enemy was the theme song for the NCAA Basketball Tournament back in 2009. The Pedestrian was even used for MLB at a time! Hell, American Idiot was in one of the Madden games.

2) They've been clapping in songs for a decade now. I don't understand why this is suddenly an issue?

3) They might actually be going the route of Weezer and just putting out a bunch of new records with different sounds and this one would obviously be the "pop" record.

4) Just enjoy the fact that our favorite band is still putting out new music.

The MOOTIK leaks were basically confirmed to be bullshit. Audio of Billie's voice was taken from other videos and the studio is located in Canada. Just because they've said they might release more music before the tour, that doesn't mean said music will be the "Magmum Opus" and I think the reasons they're talking about the tour a lot is because A) They have to and B) Maybe they know this album isn't as good as their usual material

Also, I just think Billie feels like writing short songs right now. He doesn't REALLY hate long songs

I’m all for a new direction, but why in the actual fuck would you ruin such an iconic voice in the first two songs on your album?

In Ready.Aim.Fire (whatever order it’s supposed to be) they’ve filtered his voice again but it is so far off in the background that you can barely even hear Billie. It’s like you hear snippets of words and phrases. I thought maybe it was the hockey sounds filtering it out but NOPE, sounds just as bad on the YouTube video.

I am really finding it hard to believe these are the same guys who gave us literally every other Green Day album in existence. The trilogy absolutely shits on what they have given us so far, that’s not saying much because I like the trilogy, but for you trilogy haters I bet you are thoroughly enjoying the trilogy after hearing these 2 songs.

I don’t want to try to convince myself that this is a troll album, but with all the possibilities and clues that we have and now the “troll” mention in the song description and just how blatantly bad this second single is I’m just not sure.

This isn't pop though. Just because it's shit it doesn't make it pop. Pop can be pretty good.

Hello to all of my fellow Green Day fans, long time lurker here.

It saddens me to say that, so far, this is the first Green Day album to ever disappoint me. It just feels so........half-baked. Even Uno, Dos and Tre didn't feel like this, I could still see the effort that had gone into that trilogy. There were a lot of songs in there that I actually really liked, even if they were commercial flops. After hearing these two songs and reading that the entire album will be 26 minutes or something ridiculous like that, I just feel flat. Father of All was a horrendous song (still cringing at the attempts at falsetto and the use of Vader-esque vocal filters) and even though this one sounds kind of catchy, the song ends before I can fully get into it.

Revolution Radio was a step in the right direction music wise. This, as it currently stands based on the released content, is looking nothing short of a disaster. Let's hope the remaining 20 something minutes can salvage something worthwhile from what is currently a steaming pile of turd, a turd that they have attempted to polish by filming lame Wednesday night hockey adverts.

It really kills me to write this, but I simply have  to get it off my chest. Billie should spend less time arguing about politics with people on twitter and more time actually writing a full length album.

Will this song be a free download from GD website if we pre-ordered the album?

I’m sure (hoping) this will grow on me, but I’m not a big fan of it. Father of All... grew on me after a few days.

Potential for the worst album they’ve done imo, worse than The Trilogy. At least that had roughly an albums worth of songs collectively that I liked

I don't think it's shit. To each their own, though. ✌️

That is why I call it suggestive. The accumulated suggestions of this theory being true is overwhelming. The artwork, the interviews, the cryptic hints, the 26 minutes, the contract, the nature of the songs, the fucking unicorn. That by itself, is enough for me to buy that this is just something they threw together FBHT-style, to move on from Warner - it's plain to see.

No, there is not one thing absolutely proving it by itself, but there are enough smaller things fitting together to be almost as convincing.

Put on top of that the fact that the MOOTIK rumors happened at approximately the same time, and that they have hinted at another release in 2020, and I think that rumor has a strong case as well.

I'll even dare to say "I told you so" ahead of time.

about mootik im not talking about billie talking im talking about the sound of the song, i dont think the album name and cover is real but the song to me yes. aside from mootik theories,

its not normal that a musician talk about the next thing when they dont released the new thing yet. and in this case they are giving interviews because FOAM album whats the point?

i

Rip it up on retribution
Turn it up sideways

With both of these songs, once I get over the shock of the weird vocals, I quite like both of them.
