herewegoagain
There's no good reason why I should but I find the phrase dear friends and fuckers hilarious. No strong opinions on the video but I like the aesthetic! It's short and sweet, fits the song.

Unless you think a mosh pit and gun violence have any kind of connection, I don’t see any reason to relate this video to it. Violence is violence I don't care where it is. It was a poor choice of words.
HAPPY ZOMBIE UNICORN
This video somehow also reminds me of the JoS bit in Hearth like a hand grenade 5 minutes ago, Adorkable said: Violence is violence I don't care where it is. It just says it's about violence though. Not necessarily promoting it. Anxiety is also a bad thing but simply using the word isn't necessarily bad. And violence as part of a mosh pit isn't the same thing as gun violence on any level, the word "violence" still has plenty of meaning outside US gun violence and I don't see any indication that he was referring to US gun violence. Also a theme that seems to be part of this song and album is acknowledging the bad and crazy things going on but also acknowledging enjoying the good things as a legitimate part of reacting to it. Acknowledging violence could be part of it.

legendary
Best music videos after 2010: Back in The USA and Stray Heart (If have the band playing would be more awesome)

The Bellie
I only watched it once, it was good. The edits are well done, the pics don't follow each other too fast, you have the time to get in each of them. About the violence theme, I guess it's just the violence we have in us as human beings. Like acknowledging it's there and don't try to contain it but rather let it out through music, letting yourself go etc. Also Billies mimics remind me of the Longshot video 😛
michael1989
Would anyone else prefer it if it was just the band performing?
pacejunkie punk
I think the visuals and fast cuts really elevate the music and highlight those amazing lyrics. I really get what they’re going for now. Like the best of their music it holds a mirror up to society and reflects us all in a particular time period. This is us — at times crazy, anxious, ecstatic, scary, violent, fun, tribal... and at this particular moment it feels like we’re all partying like animals on a speeding bus with no one at the wheel. Fingers up cuz there’s no one to trust. Once again he manages to capture what we’re feeling in a song and that’s the best kind of throwback to American Idiot that I can think of. And to add he manages to capture all this successfully without coming across like an old person shaking his head at kids today.
