Piece from Billboard about Father of All:

Basically Green Day's 'Father of All…' Rules Rock Airplay, Becomes Band's Record-Extending 21st Top Five on Alternative Songs. In other words GD have had five most rock airplay no. 1's (behind the Foo Fighters) and has 21 songs on the Most Top Five Alternative Songs Hits.

Just that either makes the haters mad, or proves their point in a weird punk-argument kind of way.

Congrats on topping the chart and/or charts!

Father of All now sits beside these fantastic tracks:

Longview, Basketcase, When I Come Around, JAR, Minority, American Idiot, Broken Dreams, Holiday, THE SAINTS ARE COMING, Know Your Enemy, BANG BANG and Still Breathing!

and now off topic just a bit.   I did that one song in all caps because gosh darn it.   It's one of my all time favorites songs, it went to number one and yet.....it gets no recognition.   no performances, no nothing.     Why does one of my favorite songs have to be a non-album cut, it's a tragedy, MAN!

Another possible reason is that it's sort of equal parts U2 and Green Day.  Some places calls it a U2 songs featuring Green Day, some say the reverse of that.

It's one of those covers that is so freaking good that I just want to go out and become an avid Skids fan!

But back on TOPIC.      Father of All deserves to be among these songs.    While I prefer a complete and detailed singles collection, Green Day are getting closer to being able to release a GREEN DAY #1'S COLLECTION!

THE MOST INTERNATIONAL!  THE MOST SUPER!  THE MOST #'1'S COLLECTION!!!!

Only 400k to go and it'll be 3,6...

Isn't Blink's most recent video only just above 5 million and has been out since August?

I think the video is doing just fine at 3.2 million views especially for one that's as simple as this one.

It’s not the most stunningly original video, I wonder if numbers would be higher if they had released the Madonna Inn one if that was what it was meant to be?

So this is a very weird thing I’ve noticed and I can’t explain it. It’s not uncommon for me to hear FOAMF on my local alternative station. But when I check their playlist, it’s not on there at the time I heard it. Today I heard it at exactly 4:10 when I was leaving work. Here’s the station’s playlist. WTF?

Something tells me these things aren’t accurate. I don’t see the song come up on my station’s past playlist either and though I don’t listen often enough to say whether they actually play it or not, it lists She’s Kerosene as being played on average every 30-45 minutes all day and I know they don’t play it (or any song) that much.  Something’s screwy.

I don't know about other cities but here rock stations will play guitar oriented music.

Alternative stations have changed over the last decade and guitar oriented music has been on the decline.

https://headlineplanet.com/home/2019/11/03/twenty-one-pilots-the-hype-enjoys-3rd-week-at-1-on-alternative-radio-chart/

Twenty One Pilots’ “The Hype” continues its run atop the Mediabase alternative radio chart.

Played ~3,231 times during the October 27-November 2 tracking period (+26), “The Hype” enjoys a third, non-consecutive week as the format’s #1 song.

Cage The Elephant’s former #1 “Social Cues” holds at #@ on this week’s chart. It received ~2,705 spins (-461).

Up one place, Green Day’s “Father Of All” earns #3 despite a slight decrease in airplay. The same is true for The Black Keys’ “Go,” which rises from #5 to #4.

Down two places, Illenium & Jon Bellion’s “Good Things Fall Apart” settles for #5.

Seems like it’s leveling off

Seems like the momentum of this leveling off just died. The song has now been getting steady airplay. Every Sunday I hear it played almost at the same time. It's definitely in the rotation now for stations. This is a good sign as the rotations generally do not change for months on end.

I have a feeling there will be a spike as well due to winning best rock for EMA's. Most people were probably expecting PATD to win that since that song is literally everywhere. They're most likely extremely confused about how Green Day just came out on top and will most likely check out the song even if it's just out of curiosity. I'm curious to see what the streaming numbers on Father of All will be in about 3-5 days time.

Hopefully something gives it a boost. Not performing as well as "Bang, Bang" and it's a lot more pop radio friendly.

I'm actually seeing this song used in a lot of different settings.

Bang Bang was a gem for alternative radio stations and that was it. Father of All is used right now in between periods for hockey games, it's used at the rinks when the games are played live...

I've also heard Father of All more times on the radio already. It's also really early the album isn't even dropping within this calendar year. Despite all these crazy ideas for this album and era I have a weird feeling there's something in their back pocket. I'm not saying the next album... i mean something to do with this one.

Goes down in Rock Songs but up in Mainstream Rock? What's the difference?
