HAPPY ZOMBIE UNICORN
Uno has some great songs, Stay the night and let yourself go will always have a spot in my playlists. Among the three is my least favorite tho, Dos and Tré hold the first place alternatively depending on my mood

I don't find it edgy at all. I find it just BAU. Every song on it is essentially the same type of song, which is essentially 80% of their catalog to date. I see no growth in the album at all. If you look at Warning, they took alot of steps outside their comfort zone but still maintaining GD. There is a standard pop punk song, but with one of the best set of lyrics Billie has ever written (Church on Sunday). A beautiful ballad-esque song with again, fantastic, meaningful lyrics (Waiting). Their first truly rock anthem concert closer (Minority). I could go on and on. Again, this is my opinion.
The Bellie
Uno is among my fave GD albums for sure. I enjoy it more than AI for instance when played from beginning to end. I read a lot of people here say Dos is their fave of the trilogy so I guess Uno does feel more underrated yeah. For me it's Tré > Uno > Dos but I love them all

The Grohl
Some trilogy love! I knew after a few years these albums would get some more appreciation. While none of the albums in the trilogy are near their best work, Uno is a lot of fucking fun. I fell in love with that album as soon as I heard it. I just love the high energy, the let's wreck some shit energy of that album. And some of those songs are catchy as hell! That album just stands out to me out of the entire trilogy. I love just about every song on there. To me, Tre is pretty forgettable though it also has some killer songs and Dos is okay. But for what it is, Uno is a great album and I'm glad to see I'm not alone in thinking that!

Lenny
I would say that if Reprise told GD that they couldn't do a trilogy and they had to pick one of the three albums that they recorded the correct direction would have been picking Uno Uno seemed a perfect fit coming off 2 rock operas and trying to just get back to being that band that writes simple 3 chord 2 and a half minute songs It seems reminiscent of Warning but with more maturity and after the rock operas it's refreshingly underwhelming When I spoke to people around that time about the trilogy Uno was received well by my circle of friends. Uno also debuted at #2 when it was released and had over 100,000 units shipped out in the first week. While I wouldn't say it's completely underrated it was definitely overshadowed by other negative events and of course the release of 2 other albums within 2 months of it's release. Malleus
The trilogy's problem isn't that it's bad, imo, it's that it's very samey, bloated and doesn't have the best production. I love a lot of the songs on the trilogy and I listen to the entire thing quite often, but I still think they're the worst set of releases the band has done. Stay the Night, Nuclear Family, Troublemaker, Angel Blue, Fell for You, Oh Love, almost every track is great. It’s like almost every song is a banger. I skip Sweet 16. And I like the idea of Rusty James but it’s not my fav. I still think Rusty James kicks almost all of Rev Rads ass though. Uno is a super exciting and underrated album. Sweet 16 is the best song on the album IMO. Love that damn song. 20 hours ago, Eric said: everyone was just hating the trilogy to fit in one gdc. all three were at the very least better than Warning. Warning = Green Day's peak (they have yet to make a better album than this).

localinsomniac
Hitchin' a Ride is my favorite live song apart from Welcome to Paradise, though they don't play the latter as much these days. KFAD can go, and I could even do without Minority and most definitely KYE but if they ever take Hitchin' a Ride out of the setlist, I will revolt! michael1989
I think UNO would have been a massive success if it was released in the 90s when that kind of style was popular. Particularly Let Yourself Go and Stay the Night.
GuitarPunk94
imo the trilogy failed mostly because of billie (meltdown/rehab --> lack of promotion)
Gonzalo17
I think Tre! Is the best and more underated trilogy album... Stay the night and wow that's loud should be on Tre instead of sex drug and violence and the forgotten, so we hadn't need a trilogy (I'm not including Nuclear Family because it has a better live version in my japanese Tre CD)
Miko
WARNING: Down below you see very strong and unpopular opinions. Ahh, trilogy. Every once in a while I see post regarding how underrated and good those albums are and same discussion goes over again in every thread; people still love it, Uno is a banger and albums would've sold more if only rehab didn't happen. I fully agree with these points and those albums are in no way worst albums. It's no secret that I absolutely love those albums the most and I'm 100 % serious when I say that those albums are their best work and Revolution Radio was a sad attempt to recover from it when there was nothing to be ashamed of. After two rock operas they just needed to fucking relax for once and produce fun and catchy music with no storylines and that's exactly what Trilogy is; fun, catchy and amazing songs one after one. There are no bad songs on Uno and Dos is experimental, consistent and the best album Green Day has ever produced. Every song on that album has a purpose and there are no fillers, bad songs nor anything to dislike. I see that Nightlife and Fuck Time's lyrics might turn people off but context is the key and when people understand why those songs exist and are on Dos, maybe then people see different perspectives rather than 40-year olds singing about fucking and trying to produce bad rap song. It's a party album. It's a dirty album. They said it before albums even were released. It was supposed to be dirty fucking rock and roll and that's exactly what the whole album is. You can't make a dirty album without singing about fucking in my opinion. Whole album even sounds better when you're drunk and even more better when you sing and play those songs on guitar. Absolutely the most fun album I've ever heard and I probably won't ever get bored of it. Of course, whole Trilogy is obviously not perfect. On Tre there are couple of songs I dislike heavily, but that's just me; I'm really not fan of emotional, slow piano ballads. Someone else is and I'm giving you a thumbs up if you like The Forgotten. It's not necessarily bad, it's just wrong side of Green Day that I'm not fan of. I've also seen a lot of comments regarding how guitars sound weak, Billie's voice is godawful in Nightlife and overall production is bland, but I really can't agree with these points. I see that maybe those are things that turn people off very easily (and now I'm here thinking what those people think about new single?) but I think trilogy is great with that production. Some songs could've been more dirtier regarding guitar sounds or vocals (such as Let Yourself Go) but those are just small nitpicks that I won't bother to think when I listen these albums. I know that I have very unpopular opinions regarding the trilogy but I can't help myself. I love them so much and I still watch daily after 7 years some live videos through that era. That's why I'm so excited about this current era since they seem to have fun and have this ''fuck you'' attitude once again. I disliked the single when I first listened it but after giving it some time, it's a banger. Dos > Uno > Tre. That's how I feel.

There was actually great promotion for the band at that time uno was being released including giant posters of them at record stores in our busiest malls right at the front entrance They also made several morning TV appearances and I would even say in that short run they had as many or if not more TV appearances than Rev Rad era Fast forward Dos drops and Clear Channel is basically blocking GD from being played and also blocking the lead single from being played. Then they slot Tre's release a month early. Tre already had The Forgotten in that terrible Twilight movie and the song literally did nothing. The meltdown doesn't change what was released after Uno the only difference was that they weren't around to promote anything because of Billie's issues and were eventually blocked from being able to be played on radio stations by Clear Channel. Dos and Tre did not fail because of lack of promotion but I would say Uno may have been more successful if there was more promotion.

Just my luck they had 2 extra UNO ones! Billie's huge face was a staple in my living room for a few years until I had to take it down because furniture got rearranged. Sadly, the liquor store no longer does this But yeah I remember all the promo for that album and how hyped everyone was getting for the LP and then shortly after release, everything happened.
