That Rolling Stone article says the big stadium tour will be preceded by solo dates. Is that new information? I haven't seen it anywhere.

It's weird though. Not enough hyperbole for this to be obvious trolling, but I doubt they're 100% serious. The interviews have an air of insincerity like trilogy interviews.

Not insincerity exactly more like you can sense the underlying trouble behind this music. With the trilogy it was substance abuse, with this record it’s anxiety and ADHD. Both are cries for help but in a different way and I think with the state of the world this cry for help is much more relatable. We’re not standing back watching him fall to pieces, we’re feeling the same things he is.

No, they have quite a lot of solo dates already announced in Europe (and Asia as well I think).

I honestly think you're holding them to a godlike pedestal, I'm not making excuses for them but they can make an album however long they want etc. It's not that he hates every long song he's written, sometimes there's just no need y'know?

I don't know...I see the similarity in how  both are yolo party albums and they're doing the same "out of control" talk and it just seems sort of out of place. Feeling a sense of underlying issues is a good way to decribe it.

Right, and that’s what makes me so suspicious too, especially after the Revrad era which was so positive, honest, genuine and SO them from start to finish. This one already feels kind of heavy although it only just started one day ago.

They are listed in the Green Day website tour section. Not sure about the hella mega one.

This has nothing to do with being happy or unhappy. We’re talking about anxiety. His mental health issues are well established. He even lists it in his description he posted about the single. It’s the underlying factor behind these songs. He could be happy but still struggling with personal shit and he’s always written about those things. This is not new.

People say that Dookie was "relatable" because it spoke about issues they dealt/deal with, i.e. anxiety.

If this is a way for him to deal with these issues in a healthy manor, I can see others being able to relate to it, as well.

Interesting that the idea for this tour started a year ago, according to Billie. He also said this is the most excited he's been in a long time, but I suppose he says that in interviews for every era.

 

Also it says they did this interview on August 25th, was that when we thought they were in Miami potentially doing something with the Stones?

There’s no separating them.  His reaction to life’s events is informed by his anxiety. Many a times over the past few years I’ve wanted to throw up my hands over everything society has thrown at us and say fuck it, we’re all gonna die let’s just try and focus on living. It’s a coping mechanism. And his notes to the song are  very ADHD and anxious scattered thoughts.

Agreed. Even though I believe it's a joke something feels off with it.

The weird post was very much like what Rev used to do, so it's not completely new, but I didn't expect him to bring it back.

However, I regret that I took the trilogy seriously and was critical about it instead of enjoying it for what it was worth, this time I'm going with it.
