I just have such a bad feeling about everything that happened today. Nothing makes sense and I just don't see the hype around the new album from the guys. Why would they be putting out an album that's just fun rock n roll and quirky and wild? I felt like that was the Trilogy for the most part. The fact that this song isnt released yet, also could mean that its really from Green Day. I mean if for example its really a song from panicland, then they would release it asap because everybody wants to hear that song right now. Purposely putting out music they know is shit is a terrible move and will honestly make me respect them less. If they put out a shit album that they at the time felt good about, that's fine with me. Is it confirmed that the Canadian studio that Panicland uses is the location of these videos? If so, why? How does that fit in to this theory? That said, I don't think the amount of time and effort was put into FOAMF as their prior releases. This is truly just them not giving a fuck anymore. They're fulfilling an obligation in order to move on to their next chapter. From the single, it seems like the album will be like a garage jam session (which the trilogy felt like at times too, thus the Dos feeling to the single). I do think that they're holding on to some better material for their first independent release. I don't think that's anything we've heard from Instagram leaks (which I think are fake, along with anything related to "Magnum Opus"). No one else puts out stuff that sounds THAT MUCH like Green Day. —- As for whether FOAM will be purposeful crap – of course not! They wouldn’t put out music they’re not proud of. Cori Posted September 10, 2019 Share Posted September 10, 2019 I'm not entirely sold on this theory and I'm going to give FOAMF the benefit of the doubt before I make any judgments, but one thing I thought was particularly strange from that interview from today that OP posted was Billie saying something like "not to get political..." Since when has Billie Joe Armstrong ever been afraid to get political? Tbh I think they wanted to put out a super political album (MOOTIK) but some Warner exec told them they couldn't, so they took some punchy rock songs they had lying around and turned it in FOAMF. Perhaps they plan to release MOOTIK (if it exists) once they've been freed from their Warner contract. I assume that the other album is already done or close to it, since Billie said "might release another album next year," because otherwise, with the tour starting in Asia in March, that wouldn't leave them much time to start and finish a whole other album.
