The GFB theory does NOT make sense!!!!

Does any of this really make sense? I'm telling you guys this has to be an elaborate prank that turned into something bigger than it ever should have with BJA coincidentally talking about possible next album to get at warner

Is making vinyl art/packages an easy thing to do or is something someone with no experience can do? And making copies of them?

Vinyl packages definitely not. However, I suppose someone could get a one-off/small batch run of vinyl covers for probably in the neighborhood of $30-$100. But it'd need to be pretty high quality to get printed on that size and not look garbage, which brings us back to how was the artwork obtained. If it's fake, someone would've have to had first done a REALLY good photoshop, and to do all that work and not even surface a .png of the artwork? If this is all fake I'll eat my hat on the spot, but it just seems to me like too much work to all be a goof

The songs in the leak sound way too epic for this to be a hoax!!! If it were truly a hoax, it would be just a generic punk sounding song with a bad impression of Billie. But that’s not the case!!! So much work put into the leaks, female choir, beautiful string section!!!!

UPDATE: Check this out...

Does Warner own all the music that is recorded before the contract is up? Or is it just the final cuts on the album that they claim rights to?

Better question I guess is, if the band recorded demos of songs, or wrote rough drafts, can Warner prevent them from releasing them?

NEVER on February 8th, much too early, would destroy the album sales of FOAM 😅

but yeah, if we compare the leaks of dr doback with the „leaks“ of other channels, then we hear a massive difference in quality.

KYE's snare sound for example would not have been as great with Cavallo behind the wheel.

That snare sounds like that because CLA was mixing the record, just like he did most of the others.. It doesn't really have to do much with Butch Vig. If you listen to any punk rock / alternative rock band CLA has mixed, you can immediately recognise the drum sound.

I mean, copies for each band member to take home.

And plus, this video from the 21CB sessions was posted in late 2008 and you can clearly see the album artwork on the laptop!! The album didn’t come out until May 2009.

Could watch this video all day, I love ¿Viva la Gloria? so much!!

Then the question is, why? What’s the point of leaking an alternate cover for a greatest hits album that’s been out for 2 years while we hear an unknown, epic sounding song? See? The GFB theory does NOT make sense!!!!

I find it funny how you of all people are talking about which theories do and don't make sense

For me GFB also another epic album cover. I love to keep the album on my phone just to admire the artwork eventhough I didn't listen much the compilation. But when think about it 'Magnum Opus' (Masterpiece) similar meaning with 'Greatest Hits', and both cover GFB and MOOTIK represent same concept: godlike, religious etc. Even the logo using same font. So it is good theory that MOOTIK cover is an unused cover for GFB

The MOOTIK cover is not religious though, it’s an ancient greek scene. Aaaaand I think it’s Groundhog Day again cause we have discussed this 1 million times.

In the one with the female choir, I heard, “Holy shit, if only one of you will find...” but I couldn’t figure out the rest

I didn't think about this! Great!

I don't have big expectations about this but starting a Gospel epic choir with holy shit I think would be the most Billie joe-ish thing in the world ahahha

I actually had a chat with Butch Vig about it. I know exactly what was done to achieve the sound. The mix has nothing to do with the way something was recorded. The way it was recorded is what makes it unique not the mix in this case.

Good recording > a lot for the mixer to work with  > even more for mastering to work with

Bad recording > bad mix > mastering engineer might as well walk off the job
