BilIie Joe Armstrong
If the objective was a straightforward kind of retro rock'n'roll record with pop overtones I'd say Dan Auerbach wouldn't be half bad. If they were going for an epic sound? Whoever worked with Muse some 10 years ago could very well continue where Breakdown cut off. If it's career ruining that they're after, I wouldn't half-ass it with Walker and go straight for John Feldman.
localinsomniac
I'm on record as saying that I would love to see what Mark Trombino could do with a Green Day record. He's done some great things for some of my favorite bands.
dannygreen
I'm going against the current but I'd love them to work with Greg Kurstin. The guy is a genius, he produced Hello from Adele but also the last from Foo Fighters. Also Alex Da Kid is very good (Imagine Dragons). I think a borrowed Pop producer would help them challenging theirselves and stay relevant. Sonically I think the best for them would be Butch Vig again, we would be sure of the outcome, at least. I will never stop praising his work on 21CB, awesome mixes and arrangements. He also produced Wasting Light (Foo Fighters) which I think it's their best sounding album. Just my wish, don't kill me ahah

Literally someone listened to the leaks and wrote down the supposed lyrics, took a picture of them, and is now playing this off as a cryptic leak. Fake as fuck
Redundantuserjinxboy
Looking back on the original picture of the MOOTIK album vinyls, why would they all have vinyls ready for an album not near release? And the picture includes a vinyl player, any detectives know if BJA or Butch or someone own that type of vinyl player? This theory is falling apart to me
Little Boy Named Booze
Exactly. I'm not an expert but printing vinyl or CD isn't suppose to be the last thing to do ?? I mean I'm pretty sure there are still no printed copies of FOAM available right now even for the band.

And plus, this video from the 21CB sessions was posted in late 2008 and you can clearly see the album artwork on the laptop!! The album didn’t come out until May 2009. Even though 21cb was good, i wish that was with cavallo. I agree Cavallo is Green Day's classic producer. Like Rush having Terry Brown. He got them and he knew what they needed to sound like. I disagree about 21cb. There's things that Butch Vig got them to do that Cavallo wouldn't have done as effectively. KYE's snare sound for example would not have been as great with Cavallo behind the wheel. Butch is a part of another forum I was on before and he was asked about that snare sound several times. One of his biggest moments as a producer. The other, was capturing Kurt Cobain laying on the floor singing Something In The Way. Kurt's track was not done alongside a metronome so the track is not perfectly in time or in sync. He was able to guide the rest of Nirvana's members through it and of course Dave Grohl who's known for having a great meter had to go well outside his comfort zone to make the drums sound seamless. There is someone in my network who knows Rob Cavallo as Rob signed him and also he worked under Rob at Warner and I can say from secondhand info he's well respected in the industry. I like what he did with Less Than Jake as well. Chris DeMakes also told me first hand working with Rob was an amazing and fun experience.

Actually IMO, the KYE snare sounds exactly like Extraordinary Girl from American Idiot, as it’s the same exact drum beat!

This is in regards to the production not what's technically being played. Extraordinary girl's snare was not picked up with several mics placed strategically around the room. KYE's snare is a much larger sound. If you can't hear the difference see an audiologist.

But when think about it 'Magnum Opus' (Masterpiece) similar meaning with 'Greatest Hits', and both cover GFB and MOOTIK represent same concept: godlike, religious etc. Even the logo using same font. So it is good theory that MOOTIK cover is an unused cover for GFB

Is this because you knew they wanted to just fill out the contract and leave? You also said something along the lines of the Longshot record making more sense once we heard the new green day album, can you elaborate on that at all? Oh and you did say one Longshot song was originally meant for green day, was it Kill Your Friends? That song is pretty green day-ish to me I love that I get to keep using this Hogan’s Heroes vid.
