I was very surprised to show up to the show in Toronto and I was literally 1 of a small handful of people not in Rev Rad gear. The amphitheater was filled with Rev Rad shirts. Also, this was the most mixed show from an age perspective I've ever seen. I was sitting beside a family that traveled from NY for vacation to see the show. A man in front of me was old enough to be my dad and he was super excited as it was his first GD show. My younger cousin who was 15 at the time was there. It was a different dynamic for her at 15 at her first GD show than the one I experienced at 16 at my first GD show. Rev Rad tour was my first GD tour so I can't compare with the previous ones, but yeah definitely there were plenty of people of the band's age and even older. Some of the fans (a lot of them certainly) grew up with the band like Billie says. I was feeling happy for these people, thinking: "how must be that emotion when you saw them at their beginning and you're still there to see them now, and see how much they've evolved and how big they've become." I'm not a nostalgic or anything but that must be something.  I miss the stadiums for that kind of huge melting pot ambiance with so many mixed up people and the giant, thrilling highlighting of the performers (when the giant screens are doing their job that is). In the clubs, apart from the unreal feeling of being able to see the performers that close, there is that more standardized ambiance (not in a negative way, just because the people there are often living in the close area/ or have already met with other fans, and from the few club shows I've been to, the age range is also more reduced) where a big part of the people will find themselves in, at the detriment of the more loner people. While in the stadiums, it seems like you can talk to one person and another in a never ending way, everybody is totally different and it will completely meld in all the interactions. For someone like me who doesn't like groups or exclusivity (in a place where it's small enough to get to sympathize with several people and form a group of people feeling alike, which creates some visible exclusivity precisely because it's small and you distinguish the groups right away, and also the people who aren't in any), I've never had any problems with the stadiums' (or festivals', for that matter) atmosphere. The groups are insignificant because it's that big, and everybody melds into that huge group that is the whole audience, with no regard to who you are and if you fit in a small group. In clubs, this happens at the moment of the show itself, but in the meantime, or afterwards (which can both be long), you have the time to see it all unwind, whether it fits you or not. I almost wish I was going just because of that Well i got a nice little story about this Last year i went to the Punk in Drublic festival and there was a girl, not very tall and she wanted to be in the front row (where i was) at all costs to see NOFX. So like a good gentleman i let her stay in front aaand she got annihilated basically, after just one song. I felt so fucking bad i thought she was going to faint at any time, so i tried to protect her as well as i could. Then she walked away with her boyfriend, maybe we'll meet again some day... Veganpunk
So I'm catching up on the news, watching MNSBC Morning Joe on the latest impeachment news on Youtube, and just got an Ad. It was the Father of All Motherfuckers music video. When it started I thought maybe an ad for HellaMega, but nope, the ad played the whole music video. I of course watched without skipping, but that is crazy! Worst thing that could have happened is that she went in front of you. When that mosh pit pushes up she's bound to get crushed between you and the stage. I saw it happen once right in front of me.
Beerjeezus
The small person's guide to moshing is only getting in from the back so you see what's happening and can easily get out again in case you want to take a breather. Anyway, that's what I do and it works at small shows, because it's always easy to join the mosh of to go back to the first row of people who are standing and being civilised. However, I kind of doubt it really makes a difference, because small pits aren't really a problem no matter where you stand.

Like even if i told her "i don't think this is the right place for you to stay" she had the rights to stay there. At least she was able to see NOFX up close for a brief time. To some extent this is a common thing, like people falling on the ground, losing their shoes, their phone, i also saw a girl puking one time...this is how punk and rock shows are. At times it could be an unpleasant experience but in the end is always worth it.

I was drained and literally had nothing left to give. I was like standing and sleeping and just taking in the performance. One of the most violent shows I've ever been to as well. The other one that ties the Black Flag show was Cro Mags. I left with a black eye after getting kicked in the face 3 times. A week later the black eye scabbed up and I peeled the scab off lol
pacejunkie punk
Thought of this and not sure if it was mentioned here before I canât remember but anyway â âI woke up to a Message of Loveâ Iâm guessing this is a literal line and refers to the Pretenders song âMessage of Loveâ. Â So maybe itâs his alarm or ringtone? It would make a great ringtone because the chorus goes âtalk to me darling, with a message of loveâ đ
RedundantIdiot
And the next line "choking up from the smoke from above", I think it is a reference to the fires in California

It's a #1 on rock charts. Most other bands I've listened to still are yet to hit a #1 single on ANY chart after 20+ years. 3 hours ago, RisingRedWolf said: It's grown a lot on me, especially since Oh No! came out.
