I still think him saying "I hate long songs" is odd for him. And he's said it multiple times now, in the Zane Low interview and the Kerrang interview. If he had just said it once I would've thought "hmm that's odd" and your whole 'not expressing himself right' thing would've been a fine explanation, but he's said it in 2 interviews already

There were quite a few lines in that interview where I just had the feeling: This is so out of character. I still don't know how to feel, honestly. Fact is I've never been so confused at the start of a new Green Day era, and that's just a feeling I can't shake off.

A big announcement? What sort of announcements do they normally go to radio stations for?

I mean, they've already said they might put out something before the tour....

Lol maybe the ultimate goodbye to Warner would be announcing another album that releases a week after FOAMF

I would be very happy, but please I hope they'll not announce it this year. I need to think about my money. My poor money that buy a FOAM vinyl that came with socks and a guitar strap.

The MOOTIK theory is not really about them "trolling the fans" or releasing something they don't enjoy, I believe that if the theory is real, that explains the odd choices and manners of the album, but definitely the album is going to rock our socks off either way.

and where did that come from MOOTIK?

I think everyone is reading way too deep into everything.

I dont think so. Billie saying "We might release more music before the tour." isnt just reading something into this whole thing.

Agreed. Pretty sure he was just joking about hating long songs.  He just didn't want to make any this time around.

I mean they played JOS last night.

So...........

Doesn’t matter what length the album is this was the last album of the contract

If this era of Billie is on a hate long songs kick then naturally the songs will be short

The whole press text is obviously sarcarstic.

Or it’s not and you’re simply looking for an out because you dislike one song?

I think we should stop reading too much into things. This is the album they are going to release, nothing more.

Billie Joe talking about releasing an album next year to me sounded more like they are not planning on having another 3-year wait in between this and the next album. It’s more about their freedom and free will of releasing songs and albums rather than a big master plan behind this new release and leaving Warner.

But we'll see, I guess

This. This times 5000000000

“NOTHING SAYS FUCK YOU LIKE A UNICORN”  "WE’RE GONNA TEABAG ALL THESE MOTHER FUCKERS. THE BADDEST ROCK BAND ON THE PLANET THAT GIVES A SHIT. "

If this is srsly not sarcastic, I will blend my copy of Nimrod.

I also had the same thought. If it’s recorded while they are still with Warner it likely belongs to Warner. So even if they re-record and release it they there could be copyright issues, even though it’s their own work. Which would make the “fake leak” look very stupid. I’m just rambling here I don’t know the ins and outs of these things.

Maybe that's what they'll be mainly doing these last few months, recording.

It's not like that, when songs are signed

Warner takes a part, they can write and record whatever they want for theirselves, they become warner when they share the rights for a publication

And also if they record in a studio paid by Warner or with a producer paid by Warner
