I mean, fuck Fall Out Boy and all that, but if Fall Out Boy gets a 30-minute opening set then Weezer and Green Day play for 80-90 minutes each, I am so there. The idea of a 26-minute-long album is...I dunno. There are EPs longer than that. Will be Weezer with the shortest set of the three, probably 45 mins. FoB an hour to an hour and 15 then Green Day for however long they want.

Sorry, I know fuck all about Apple stuff You can listen to Apple Music from Android, just look for the app on the android store or however it is called. Not sure if you need a subscription (works like Spotify), or if you can listen to the radio for free.

Popular Post Thatsername
Do we have any idea at this point who’s responsible for the disaster called a „album artwork“ - I mean, who „designed“ it?

Agree, that can be true only if you think this is shit music, I don’t think so, and I believe the guys don’t think so. In the past they even made side projects to be able to do music quite close to this. They would not do it if they think it’s shit I think the difference now is that with the contract coming to an end they feel and are free to put whatever they like under the Green Day label, I like this because I think it gives an energy and vibe to the song that Foxboro and Longshot tracks are missing. I don’t think this is a fuck you Warner in the sense of “fuck you Warner we put shit music under your label for fun”. It’s a “fuck you Warner, fuck you existential expectations, we are Green Day, this is what we want to play now, and nothing can stop us from doing it”. Then of course people are still entitled to not like it. Personally I do 20 minutes ago, Thatsername said: Do we have any idea at this point who’s responsible for the disaster called a „album artwork“ - I mean, who „designed“ it? I think the artwork goes along with the rest. It’s a provocation towards Warner and the fans, it’s a big punk fuck you towards one of their greatest success. At least this is how I interpret it: we are Green Day, we can even shit unicorns over the AI cover at this point of our career. And I think Billie is the brain behind it 1
Popular Post James!
none of the interviews have mentioned that bloody unicorn or the fact it is AI on the album cover...i find that quite odd
Popular Post michael1989
What's interesting is Love is for Losers would have been a more radio friendly lead single than Father of All by far. So they're definitely not chasing the charts.

Billie, what were you thinking giving us the worst album cover in Green Day's history? Billie: And even worse than that is the fact that I ordered the limited pink vinyl, which means that this monstrosity will be in my record collection until the end of time. We're even more fucked up 🤣

poly29
One thing I do not get is, if they really want to get rid of Warner so badly, why do they release the album in February and not like in October or something.

I don't think they ever would provocate their fans, that's a shitty thing to do Provocate in a good sense, provocation as the heart of punk rock music, if you get what I mean. Surprise, put out a song/record the goes beyond what everyone would expect. This song and everything surrounding it, including the interviews (especially the Kerrang one) tell me this, and I hope the record will confirm it. Of course, if a fan wanted only another record made of straightforward classic punk rock songs like RR or 99 revolutions, or a rock opera like 21CB or AI, he will probably get disappointed, and will probably take the provocation in a bad way. Not saying that you don’t have the right to be disappointed, but I love this provocation. I wanted something fresh and good first of all, and this is fresh and good to me. MillenniumFan
I think out of caution it has to be assumed that this IS real and the only album for the cycle, but even if it is done with a "we don't care, out the door" or "fuck off Warner" attitude, why depreciate American Idiot on the album cover? Warner or not, that thing is a masterpiece and they know it. Everything else kinda makes sense to me, even the short album length, since it's their last record in the contract, but why that?

I think the release schedule is where the label has most of its influence, the band probably has a voice in it but it’s not totally on their hands. Anyway I don’t thing they necessary want to get rid of it asap, it is just a contract/collaboration that is coming to an end, which is something natural in every thing of life. And they’re ending it with a bang.

There’s a lot to unpack here, the new sound and mix combined with a genius track yet again (how do they keep doing this), but the Reprise twist escalated quickly and in my mind makes this the most interesting release yet- never mind the massive tour on top of it. The album cover spells it all out in pretty simple terms. The 26 minute length is no coincidence. I could list about ten other big developments today but it’s fair to say there’s more to come. Welcome back boys, I should have known to expect something like this, yet I didn’t, and I should know better by now. Spot on, and welcome back to you! 1
