He said they're going to cut down on it. Seems contrary to their love of touring and his recent side gigs. I think it's more of a "Hey let's not go crazy with touring like we did with AI and 21CB". I think this tour will be similar to the RevRad tour
Greenday_Aussie
Man, I haven’t posted here in YEARS. Explicit vinyl is available still in the Aus store!
DookieLukie
FYI, vocal filters does not equal overproduced.
That Dude
Just watched a couple interviews and Billie said he was going for a Prince sound on the vocals. I immediately thought of Weezer's song called "The Prince that Wanted Everything" and how awful of a tribute that song was. But Green Day did it up right, I'm really digging this song. This is such a strange time in Green Day history, I hope they just keep getting weirder and weirder as the years go by. I guess I'll go and check out the new Fall Out Boy song. Any thoughts on that one yet? 1 1

A Worry Rock
Is there a high quality picture of the explicit album cover? Only picture I see is on the store.

So, why "foot in mouth" is considered an EP? Is longer than 26 minutes
DookieLukie
I want to hear the rationale behind this artwork. Also, can't wait for a music video.

Is longer than 26 minutes pretty sure he's just going by the modern specifications put in place by warner. Sum41's first "EP" is 30 minutes but most consider it a studio album

Any thoughts on that one yet? I downloaded the Weezer song the other night and it's not bad. Got the Fall Out Boy one blasting right now. I get the feeling that they are combining forces to shift the tide of their shared genre, and Green Day are leading the charge. Pop Punk and Rock N Roll in general have either gone stale or gone soft as Billie is saying. He's bringing together some of the most influential bands who may be seen as being past their day in the light and reshaping the genre from the inside out. They're making a new sound, but it's not a sound made to make money. it's about being yourself and living life. You've got the newer band that can reach the younger of the core punk rock fans. They can changed their style and attract the younger ones. You've got Weezer, who have had a recent comeback with their "Africa" cover. They can attract fans from across all walks of life. They can rock this change through the ages. And Green Day. The internet likes us to think there are people who hate Green Day, but that is false. There may be a few people on the earth that haven't heard the gospel YET, but that may change by 2020. So this could be a major, major shake up in the music world. It could help get Rock in the charts again. It could get Pop and Rock getting along again. This could be world-shattering. I'm super pumped about this whole thing. One negative though. So I don't mind the artwork for Father of All. It's pretty terrible but I think that's what they wanted. I just saw the cover of Weezer's new record and BARF BARF DOUBLE BARK TRIPLE BARF. Just keep posing in front of all the colors of the rainbow guys, it's worked well for you! is Crush known for hideous album art or something? Anyway. My #1 band. My #18 band and my #80 band all in one package!!!! This is freaking cool. Anbody talking about the new dress style we have now? AAAAgh. Nobody's going to react and respond because there is so much going on / on here. but gosh. Gosh. This is such an awesome feeling. I've been walking around talking to myself about Green Day the last few days. Hahaha. Love you guys. 3

bass boy
Jheez, what a weird era for Green Day. Not gonna dismiss the album quite yet, but jfc that single/artwork. Its....definitely different. Looking forward to the tour tho, as long as its not crazy overpriced. Still more stoked on the new Lagwagon tune tho tbh (at least they're still punk, for anyone whos interested)

That Dude
Oh yeah! I'm reviewing my "Wait between Green Day albums" and the wait between RevRad and FOAM is almost the same as the one between 21st Century Breakdown and Uno! It's a shorter wait than the Warning-Idiot wait , and also shorter than the Idiot-Breakdown wait, and shorter than the Tre-RevRad wait. It's a longer wait than all the other albums, but hey. Green Day are killing it at being a rock band and they've got this shit figured out! 3 years seems like the perfect amount of time for them to find a new muse. Welp, gotta go listen to Father of All for the 8th time. Oh yeah. Track list me! Track list me, Green Day!! Track list! Track list! I'll keep making up my own, just TRACK LIST ME, BABY! Also, are Fall Out Boy going to release a new album as well?
grinsoniko
Really hoping they play other songs from FOAMF tonight at the Whiskey. Maybe get some audio or videos from people attending.
SomeNimrod97
Potentially unpopular opinion incoming... I actually liked Weezer's track most out of the 3. FOB's one was SHIT! and FOAMF is a difficult one to 100% get into.
That Dude
Green Day.com has some really cool videos, I'm guessing you guys have seen the Ron Burgundy Thing? Hilarious! So it seems like the band are shaking things up for the Father of All Era. Could this possibly cross over into their live show as well? Oh man that would be amazing! I've gotta run over to the Ideal Set list thread and go nuts. Excuse me!

dudley dawson
I'm going to guess this album will be similar to Beck's Midnight Vultures. New dance-centric style, extremely polarizing, but probably seen as high quality somewhere down the road.
