Montclare
There were always different theories as to why the Longshot was just Billie (personally, I always thought it was because Mike and Tre needed a vacation and Billie wanted to keep going). You'd think if they wanted to release an album just to fulfill their contract, they'd have just done that as a GD album. I worry about adding more shows. Right now they have March-August, with April missing. Hopefully they do club shows prior to that. I still worry this is the only Chicago show we're getting. Hope I'm wrong. 1
rustyjames12
If this is a shot at Warner, wouldn't Warner just tell them that they can't put the song and artwork out?

Popular Post DookieLukie
I still doubt GD would put out bad music on purpose. They don't seem like that kind of band.

Littleshi
i think we should dig on this more this record is The New! soul, Motown, glam and manic anthemic. Punks, freaks and punishers! The Dirty messy . The Stink. , The lyrics are like a party and lifestyle of not giving a fuck. The life AND death of the party. Not political. Surviving in chaos. The real shit. Me mike and Tre of the Green Day cut through the bullshit. That’s how it’s always been for us. Everything else is fake. Frauds I tell ya!! Rock has lost its balls. We’re gonna teabag all these mother fuckers. The baddest rock band on the planet that gives a shit. “Glorious” or “glorious anarchy” seems to be the word that keeps coming up that reflects Dancing Tribalism Anxiety Joy Violence Drugs Booze Dangerous songs for dangerous kids! Our motto?? “Nothing says fuck you like a unicorn” Love And kisses Billie its not weird they release the song with a letter? a thing i repeated several times in the old thread was someone told me something about awarness, perception, above all. people laughted at me, and i repetead the same thing 3 times anyway. to be hones i understood that, like an album about wakiing up above all politics, religion and all. i dont like the song sound but the lyric + the letter is a bit in line with all that with sarcasm was more than expected. and now all makes senses

As for the artwork do we know that Warner has creative control over artwork? As far as I'm aware the band submits ideas for that. Oh ok if it's the song you're referring to then that makes more sense. This album is a burn to fulfill their contract so they can become independent. It appears some dispute may have happened between them and warner and it seems like they have sabotaged the cover so people don't buy it and hence warner doesn't get paid. I'm actually considering not buying the album myself. Charlie Sheen is my favourite actor I'm no stranger to Warner's antics

I don't think they aim for it to be 'bad', but I wouldn't be surprised if they kowtowed to every demand from the studio in this one, to kinda show how bad a committee can be when it comes to art. WhiteTim
Playing devils advocate the “we want to be able to release more music” isn’t exactly a valid excuse Warner isn’t opposed to releasing as much music from their artists Gucci Mann releases several albums under Atlantic a year (one year had him at 2 solo albums and 4 group albums)

I don’t think it’s bad. I believe musically this is what they want to do and they still put 100% of themselves into everything but they just gave 26 mins worth of music and held the rest for another release. I don’t think they would purposely release music they were not happy with.

Also, I kind of wince that they played it themselves in 2017, and now have two other big bands with them. I know it wasn't totally full (but not by much), but it makes it looks like they need them there.
