I think a lot of people (myself included) think this could still be a thing. If Father of All is just to fulfill contract obligations and they're not happy with Warner for whatever reason, it could very well be that they're releasing an album of just messing around under that contract, and saving their next masterpiece for themselves. Here's hoping.
Metadon
well every time GD is about to release an album, they are doing it properly. This time is different. Announcing tour plus new song is weird at least

stories and songs
It's not a good sign when fans are like "okay, but where's the REAL album?" 😂 I have part of that leaked song stuck in my head and can't remember what the actual new song sounds like, oops.
ANTI
5 minutes ago, punkrockerjaymz said: Apparently Father Of All Motherfuckers album is 26 minutes long and their last with Warner records. The album artwork looks like they're trolling. Billie Joe said they'll release new music before the tour now the contract is up. There are existing copies of Magnum Opus Of The Inglorious Kind vinyl sleeves floating about, possibly leaked by the band themselves. Theory: We'll get Father Of All Motherfuckers on February 7th and we'll get Magnum Opus Of The Inglorious Kind also in February 2020 released on Jingle Town Records. This makes a lot of sense actually. It's what Frank Ocean did, he released a visual album called Endless to fullfil his contract with Def Jam and on the same day dropped Blonde, which got all the promo and turned out to be legendary, so it's been done before. I have the feeling like some music may get released even throughout the tour. The tour stop in my area is Aug 2020 which is still quite some time away. This is definitely just them sticking it to Warner. I have to say this is probably the strangest record release I've ever seen in my time. Everyone was talking about Beyonce's antics before... please beyonce step aside...

I think I'm seriously disappointed by a Green Day product for the first time. That artwork. WHAT THE FUCK WERE THEY THINKING? Thanks, I hate it. I don't want to lose those. Also, without Warner, I worry about them still playing arenas. I love seeing them in clubs (and bars, and street fests), but love seeing them in arenas too. Think about it this way 2020: Father of All Motherfuckers and possibly more music 2021: Longshot album 2022: Green Day Album 2023: Longshot album 2024: Green Day album

Objectively, it is odd for them to have an AI throwback image on their new album cover. I don't think it's wrong for fans to think something is amiss.
localinsomniac
Only listened to the song once, and was a little weirded out. Seems like it's a bit of a grower. Don't understand the overreaction though- people were disappointed that RevRad was so safe. This doesn't sound safe to me at all. I'm still pumped for this album, like always.
Littleshi
i think we should dig on this more this record is The New! soul, Motown, glam and manic anthemic. Punks, freaks and punishers! The Dirty messy . The Stink. , The lyrics are like a party and lifestyle of not giving a fuck. The life AND death of the party. Not political. Surviving in chaos. The real shit. Me mike and Tre of the Green Day cut through the bullshit. That’s how it’s always been for us. Everything else is fake. Frauds I tell ya!! Rock has lost its balls. We’re gonna teabag all these mother fuckers. The baddest rock band on the planet that gives a shit. “Glorious” or “glorious anarchy” seems to be the word that keeps coming up that reflects Dancing Tribalism Anxiety Joy Violence Drugs Booze Dangerous songs for dangerous kids! Our motto?? “Nothing says fuck you like a unicorn” Love And kisses Billie its not weird they release the song with a letter? someone told me something about awarness, perception, above all. and now all makes senses
