These days fan bases take any small negative comments of their favorite band or artist way too seriously and completely lash out. I'll never understand why it's so hard for them to just ignore and move on.

Because they are mostly emotional teen girls.

Lol one of the negative user reviews says the album has ''boomer energy''. But the few that are there from Grande fans are interesting lol this one is my fav

''Thank u, next outsold this trash projet. Ariana's Karma never fail
U clown better wash this **** mouth when u GO talk about pop princess''

I mean I understand that most of these are just pre teens or younger teens being protective of ''their'' favourite artist but ya the older you get this stuff just looks so bad.

I don't know who wrote this review but she/he must have made a mistake. As far as I know, Billie Eilish is the Pop princess, not Ariana Grande 🤔

Review: Green Day steers away from original sound with ‘Father of All …

Lifestyle-Greenday.jpg

Green Day’s 13th studio album, “Father of All …” was released on Feb. 7, and it gave fans 26 minutes of punk-rock novelty.

The album’s name, “Father of All Motherf——,” is censored to “Father of All …”, and the title on the graffiti-covered album is censored by a unicorn vomiting a rainbow. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong created the artwork for the album cover.

The 10-song collection kicks off with a song that is reminiscent of old school rock. “Father of All …” features Armstrong’s iconic, impatient and whiny voice complaining about the rocker lifestyle as guitar riffs evoke the classic rock style.

“Fire, Ready, Aim” reminds listeners of old Green Day, as the track is introduced with a solo electric guitar. The gritty and aggressive lyrics are the definition of true punk rock.

“Oh Yeah!”, the album’s third track, does not offer much change of speed throughout the duration, but the chorus slightly accelerates. However, this song does not contribute to the iconic sound of Green Day.

Rather than the band’s typical screaming and banging on the drums and other instruments, “Meet Me on the Roof” offers rapid beats and casual lyrics to make it a dance and party song.

The anthem, “I Was a Teenage Teenager,” begins excessively slow and makes the audience think the song will be dismal, as there is no drum beat. Forty seconds in, Tré Cool, the band’s drummer since 1990, chimes in and adds more depth. Alluding to the misdeeds that teenagers are known for, the band sings, “So who’s holding the drugs?” and “My life is a mess and school is just for suckers.”

“Stab You in the Heart” is reminiscent of previous fan-favorite songs as it ignites with hard-hitting and aggressive excitement. Because of the intense scream in the introduction, the listener is compelled to headbang, stick out their tongue and play air guitar for the duration of the song.

The seventh song in the set, “Sugar Youth,” features the same guitar riff to begin and end the song. The stop-and-go beat resembles quick breathing and mimics the feeling of racing against time. This draws a parallel to the title and lyrics of the song, which insists on getting a “sugar rush” and list the symptoms one feels just before fainting.

“Junkies on a High” borrows the style of alternative indie bands, as it has a slow tempo, a depressing aura and lyrics that speak of a downward spiral and the world ending.

The song “Take the Money and Crawl” has a slow beginning but quickly picks up with a drum and guitar ensemble. Encapsulating the band’s rebellious attitude, drugs, depression and murder are highlighted.

“Graffitia,” the tenth and final track, closes out the album as a hit song for crowds to sing along to at concerts. Featuring lyrics about a made-up place called Graffitia, the band offers fans positivity about being outcasts while also encouraging them to stick together and be there for one another.

The album is considered much safer and toned-down than the group’s garage pop-punk norm, which makes sense considering the band members are growing older. However, Green Day fans may not favor their new relaxed sounds.

The band’s 2009 album “21st Century Breakdown” includes more memorable tunes and lyrics than their newest album. With almost half as many songs included in “21st Century Breakdown,” “Father of All …” leaves fans slightly disappointed and wanting more.

Beginning in Singapore on March 8, Green Day will be touring with Fall Out Boy and Weezer in their international Hella Mega tour.

Green Day’s New Album Is Getting Some Downright Brutal Reviews

green_day_2000-680x454.jpg

Green Day haven’t exactly been a cutting edge band for at least a decade. But rather than fight that off, their new record, Father of All… leans all the way in.

For a start, there’s that title. Father of All… is just the censored version. The album’s actually called Father of All Motherfuckers, which is the kind of name that might have felt shocking circa 1962, but six decades later feels delightfully quaint.

Then there’s the musicianship. An early press poster for the record heralded the fact that it’s completely free of features, “Swedish songwriters”, and trap beats, calling it “100 percent pure uncut rock.” Which is oddly accurate. The album is exactly as pig-headed, anachronistic and boring as that poster makes it sound — after all, Swedish songwriters and trap beats are great.

Anyway, one critic who is not buying any of this nonsense is Anthony Fantano, also known as The Needle Drop. The owner of one of the biggest music criticism channels on YouTube, Fantano is well-known for his sometimes abrasive and unforgiving reviews. But his takedown of Green Day hits a new level entirely.

Giving the record a “strong zero” out of ten, Fantano tears the thing to absolute shreds.

“What the hell is this?” the critic starts. “I knew from the singles this wasn’t going to be good, but Jesus Christ. I feel like a newscaster who’s just been passed a report that the world is going to end in like, an hour, and I’m just sitting here shuffling the papers around figuring out how I’m going to say this.”

From there, he goes on to tear apart the record’s flabby, uninspired songwriting. “I can’t believe this thing is only 26 minutes long. 26 minutes. And it feels like it’s 56,” he says, exasperated.

But that’s not all. Possibly Fantano’s most shocking sledge comes two minutes in, when he sums up the whole disastrous project. “What happens on Father of All is a miserable and failed attempt at reviving some of rock’s stalest, dumbest and shallowest cliches.”

Fantano’s not the only one with the knives out either. Evan Rytlewski of Pitchfork describes the album as an occasionally entertaining, mostly reductive and dull listen, saying, “[Green Day] have no secrets to share; they reveal them all upfront, and its most eager hooks can begin to grate after just a few spins.”

The blog SputnikMusic goes even harder, calling it “lazy” and “chock-full of embarrassment; a veritable who’s who of awkward one-liners with absolutely no logical or thematic ties.”

Big Lol at these dudes picking only the negative reviews (and pitchfork actually released a positive one 😂)  and showing a sales chart when there’s still no sales data 😂

Maybe we should give Ariana’s new album 0 ratings out of fucking spite. See how triggered they get then. :P

does Meta not have any quality control/auditing on user reviews? Pretty sure these don't qualify as real reviews.

I don't know, were fandoms always so aggressive or is it a recent trend? I don't understand why suddenly there are little kids being constantly angry on twitter, is it something I missed out on because I wasn't on English internet much when I was their age?

It’s just fucking social media IMHO. I read comments of people literally getting offended for Parasite winning the Oscar, fucking nuts comments, it’s absurd how hatefully passioned people get for any fucking thing. I think to a certain extent this kind of people is always been there, but sm is giving them a space to express their frustration. But in part it’s also the medium influencing and provoking this kind of behavior. I mean, every time I open Twitter I am just speechless.

Yeah, and mods and rockers were literally fighting each other 😂 Maybe it’s just the level of exposure that this shit get that is abnormal, and the fact that whenever and wherever you are you can get your dose of hate. It’s also true that throwing shit at people online is easier than punching in the face a fucking rocker on the Brighton beach, so proportions are different :P

Yeah I think now social media makes it easier for fandoms to start shit. And because of the internet they have a wider impact so I think that's why we're seeing it now. I really hate that toxic fandom way of thinking.

People would get into fights at school arguing which one was better. People wouldn't be friends with each other if they like the "wrong" group. So I was always the odd one out because I liked both of them 🤷‍♀️

I think most of these aggregate sites like Rotten Tomatoes etc dont really have quality control when it comes to user reviews up until the point its being abused. There have been a few recent films that have been review bombed by users in some cases before the film has been released and they basically have shut down the user review sections. I think they also implemented a system where you must show proof you actually saw the film with a ticket before being able to review. So the whole thing can be abused massively and ya the only action thats taken is when it gets out of hand.

Oh boy I miss the 90's internet. People only went where they wanted to go. I like Green Day? Cool I'm on a fan site with people who like them too.

I never understood why people on YouTube go to see a Green Day music video but are there to trash them. Maybe they really love them but can't come to terms with it? As for me and user reviews I'd only review what's on my radar and have listened to in full. I'm not gonna go give Ariana Grande a 0, I still have no clue who the fuck she is.

I gave FOAMF a 7. I like some of it, some other parts don't do much for me. Objectively, it's better than other stuff I've heard over the past 12 months.
