What?? Can I get a source on that because I never heard it confirmed anywhere that they said they'd release more tracks.

I remember I was commenting on this the other day with @pacejunkie punk but I can’t remember which of the 200 interviews was it 😄

People complaining for the use of classical R&R riff, but JeASuS oF SubURBIA IS THE MOST OrIGiNaL SOnG EVeR

I think Lazy Bones is actually considered by far one of the best trilogy songs

"Lazy riff writing!"

"Please, it sounds exactly like Give Me Novocaine"

"It's just the same thing over and over"

"A lazy person wrote this song"

--nearly everyone

...but all that aside, I'm glad to get the reassurance that I'm not the only one who enjoys Lazy Bones

I thought the internet had established that Green Day is not emo 😂

"bound to be similarities"

HE LITERALLY RE-USED A RIFF NOTE FOR NOTE. NOT IN A DIFFERENT KEY. SLIGHTLY SPED UP. IT'S NOT A SIMILARITY. IT IS COPY AND PASTING THE SAME SHIT WE'VE ALREADY HEARD

so

Yeah I’ll second this. Only time I ever heard it mentioned was when they said they had another seven songs and Billie said “who knows we could release them since we are off our contract with warner” but I never saw any update or talk of this after

Do you people ever listen to other bands? Basically any band that's been around as long as Green Day (and for bad bands, even less) have similar riffs and melodies sprinkled into their music. There's only so many notes and combinations. Green Day isn't egregious with it by any means.

I don't think they do

Again “Stab You in the Heart” is “You Broke My Heart” from These Paper Bullets not “Fuck Time.” “You Broke My Heart” technicality was released before “Fuck Time.” So it’s potentially the copy 🤷🏻‍♂️ Idk.

“You Broke My Heart” at 14:25

Also, like everyone has said, it’s a very common riff.

Um no I don't think so, nearly everyone is crying about how they love that song and how much they love Billie

Except for everyone else, who is whining about how much they hate that song and how much they think Billie isn't a good songwriter etc

It was exactly one person expressing displeasure with the melody repetition, you're not that special :P

Also, I think some of the lyrics on the sheet are not accurate. Hard to tell until the HQ versions come out, but some words are definitely not there or not correct.

I've largely seen it praised here and it actually won the Dos survivor on reddit.

i’m glad he reused the fuck time riff. i said before it’s a great song instrumentally i just don’t understand how a 40 year old could write those lyrics on drugs or off drugs.

Reddit is cursed but now I believe in its redemption :P  lmao

**edit** wait, based on the spreadsheet posted, it looked to me like Lazy Bones got eliminated first on the Dos survivor 🤔

Dos "survivor" in my book would've been Baby Eyes if the Demolicious version had been the real one

He said that in Finnish music magazine interview. I wrote about it in the "Random Green Day News". Interview was done when the band was in Spain last October/November. I can post a scan of it but it's in Finnish. Anyway, Billie said that they still have 6-7 songs which didn't fit in this album's theme, but they want to continue to release new music as soon as possible. After that he literally said that those songs are going to end up as a singles or EP in this year or 2021.

Is there a digital copy that could be copy-pasted into Google translate? Lol, but I'm being serious 😂

Oh yeah, I spaced on that. To be fair, it’s impossible to say when what was written. They both could have been written 10 years ago for all we know.

I don't like it. I wish I did. But all is well I still have previous works and side projects to shield me from whatever this is.

Very very true haha. Billie has mentioned multiple times that he has reworked old songs.

Green Day is by far the band I listen to the most, but no way in hell is the only band I listen to.
