Stab You In the Heart completely reusing the Fuck Time riff pisses me off to no end. Lazy. no excuse for it other than laziness

To be fair, fuck time ripped of hundreds if not thousands of retro rock and even modern rock songs.

But I 100% get you on reused melodies, this album has a lot of them.

Tbh I'm over caring what ideas Billie borrows and reuses because that was I couldn't enjoy much of his work from trilogy on

I have mixed feelings about it to say the least

So just because he's done it so many times you're going to let pure laziness get a pass? A guy who's job it is to make music and be creative should not be getting a pass by the community for blatantly reusing riffs  just because you don't care. It's objective laziness and it's sad that nobody cares about them stealing and rehashing their ideas over and over and OVER again.

They also already confirmed they are gonna release 7 more songs as either singles or EPs, maybe with Warner maybe with someone else. They just didn’t want them on this record, and I don’t see why the reason for this should not be artistic.

Did they confirm that? I thought they just said they wrote 17 songs for the album. But I wasn't aware they said they were gonna release another 7 tracks. I know they said they might release another album or something

I just want to know the reasoning behind cutting those 7 extra songs. If anything they could’ve kept at least 2 of those songs to make a full 12 song, 30+ minute album. I hope one day we’ll get a full album of unreleased material like new songs and outtakes of their well known singles and album filler, similar to The Beatles Anthology. From the Nimrod sessions, they have at least 12 extra songs that got cut, and then of course there’s the Cigarettes and Valentines album!

We'll get something like that at some point however I think when the band is pretty much retired.  OR and this is a big OR the band feels now is the time to release all the b-sides and material they didn't think was up to par now.  Just have to wait and see.

Who says? Sounds like some unwritten rule some pretentious snob would make up. He's done it really since dookie, so I don't really understand. I would think people would be more upset about copying other artists' melodies

They confirmed that in one of the magazine interviews from last week.

It's pretentious to say that a multi-millionaire artist shouldn't steal other peoples' work, or re-use a riff from 2 albums ago? The band is shitting in a bowl and you're eating it up.

What?? Can I get a source on that because I never heard it confirmed anywhere that they said they'd release more tracks.

Just based on the lyrics and the general reception from people who have heard it (as someone who hasn't heard any leaks), I have a feeling that Graffitia is going to be the best on this imo

Ironic how in both this and the Trilogy the band was hyping up how much fun they had and about how the whole thing was just about cutting loose and making music and having a good time...and then churning out some of the darkest lyrics and themes this side of Insomiac 🤔

Ok whatever dude. Just because you don't like it, don't take it out on others. It's pop rock music. There are bound to be similarities

"bound to be similarities"

HE LITERALLY RE-USED A RIFF NOTE FOR NOTE. NOT IN A DIFFERENT KEY. SLIGHTLY SPED UP. IT'S NOT A SIMILARITY. IT IS COPY AND PASTING THE SAME SHIT WE'VE ALREADY HEARD
