Lazy. no excuse for it other than laziness To be fair, fuck time ripped of hundreds if not thousands of retro rock and even modern rock songs. But I 100% get you on reused melodies, this album has a lot of them.

A guy who's job it is to make music and be creative should not be getting a pass by the community for blatantly reusing riffs just because you don't care. It's objective laziness and it's sad that nobody cares about them stealing and rehashing their ideas over and over and OVER again.

They just didn’t want them on this record, and I don’t see why the reason for this should not be artistic. Did they confirm that? I thought they just said they wrote 17 songs for the album. But I wasn't aware they said they were gonna release another 7 tracks. I know they said they might release another album or something

If anything they could’ve kept at least 2 of those songs to make a full 12 song, 30+ minute album. I hope one day we’ll get a full album of unreleased material like new songs and outtakes of their well known singles and album filler, similar to The Beatles Anthology. From the Nimrod sessions, they have at least 12 extra songs that got cut, and then of course there’s the Cigarettes and Valentines album! We'll get something like that at some point however I think when the band is pretty much retired. OR and this is a big OR the band feels now is the time to release all the b-sides and material they didn't think was up to par now. Just have to wait and see. Sounds like some unwritten rule some pretentious snob would make up. He's done it really since dookie, so I don't really understand. I would think people would be more upset about copying other artists' melodies
Popular Post DookieLukie
This could be the most detailed GD album since 21CB. Hard to tell due to the vinyl rip, but it sounds like most songs have a lot of layers and stuff going on in the background. Also, "Like a high school loser that will never, ever, ever, ever fuck the prom queen" is probably my favorite Billie line in...jeez idk how long. 4

21st_century_gloria
Just based on the lyrics and the general reception from people who have heard it (as someone who hasn't heard any leaks), I have a feeling that Graffitia is going to be the best on this imo Ironic how in both this and the Trilogy the band was hyping up how much fun they had and about how the whole thing was just about cutting loose and making music and having a good time...and then churning out some of the darkest lyrics and themes this side of Insomiac 🤔

There are bound to be similarities

He's borrowed a lot over the years and on some level, I have fun looking out for the "stolen" bits. FBHT is pretty much based on that idea, so is some of Longshot and the entriety of These Paper Bullets. When it comes to him reusing his own melodies, I'm curious how many times he's going to rewrite She's A Rebel before he gets bored 1 minute ago, DyP said: "bound to be similarities" HE LITERALLY RE-USED A RIFF NOTE FOR NOTE. Popular Post Christian's Inferno!
Green Day credit artists when they use their work in their songs and I don't see an issue with them doing that or re-using their own riffs if the songs are different in other aspects i.e. lyrics, vocal melodies, drums/bass etc. It's not stealing 4
