Honestly last thing that bothers me is the state of their account. Support small bands instead.

I understand, but also the day a new album by one of my favorite bands comes out feels special, and im afraid that listening to the album earlier than the day it was intended to be released will ruin this feeling for me, it happened when I listened to the Trench (twenty one pilots) leaks

This is quite possibly the laziest album they have ever done. Billie has always "borrowed" but he has usually put a fresh spin on it. I don't hear that at all in this album.

Stab you in the Heart is literally You broke my Heart from These Paper Bullets with different lyrics. I wouldn't be surprised that Stab You in the Heart was the originally version that was turned down by the producers.

I really thought I was going to fall asleep during I was a Teenage Teenager and Junkies on High.

This album has given me a new found appreciation for Insomniac.

I really wish he would just release the sound track to These Paper Bullets already. I was brilliant.

The album is incredibly good, I got nothing to say except the length, this album is too short, it’s so good that I want more

Yeah every time I listened to it last night I got sad when Graffitia started. It's too short

There's a sense of freedom in FOAM that gives it a special magic.

This lone sentence is the best review of FOAM so far. It describes it perfectly.

They better play SYITH live. I want the whole album played live but that song is a party 🎉

And @Chin for a Day who cares if it was reworked from an earlier song of his? Songwriters do that all the time and we know Billie does it a lot. I don’t see what that takes away from it. He took something he had and made it better and fit for a Green Day album. It’s part of the process. What’s with this idea that every song a writer releases has to be made from whole cloth? It’s a craft and songs can be bits of pieces of old ideas and lesser ideas rewritten over years or decades. One interview just said he finished a song he’s been working on since 1993. That’s the work of songwriting.

I might be naive but I have a really hard time seeing they'll pull a RevRad and fuck us over again by not playing the full album live. I think they're truly so proud of this album for all the reasons that @ANTI described so perfectly a couple of posts up. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Hopefull they'll play the full thing at the release party, at the very least.

Do we know if they gave any songwriting credits to other artists? It's really only a couple that should need it probably. The others have been done by other artists many times, so I don't really have a problem with it. But if they did give credits in the trilogy and 21CB, I would think they would've given some here

It wasn't actually re-worked, it is an exact copy with different lyrics. Yes, Billie always has borrowed, but he has always taken that and put a fresh, clean take on it. All songwriters borrow, there are only so many riffs out there. I don't have a problem with that. But this whole album just sounds so lazy and quickly put together. I would rather he had just taken You Broke My Heart and put it on the album. I really wish he had just released the soundtrack to These Paper Bullets. The sound track is brilliant and it was a really fun show.

Plus, why do you care if I don't like it? It shouldn't take away from your enjoyment of it.

What I love about FOAM is that I feel this is exactly the album the guys have been wanting to release for a long time, but didn't dare to because of the Green Day brand burden. It makes sense that it sounds like a mix of all their side projects, because it's almost as if they thought of this album as a passion project, and honestly, at this point of their career, is just what they should be doing. I love Revolution Radio and 21st Century Breakdown is still my favorite GD album, but you can feel their desire to live up to certain expectations in most of those songs, and on the contrary, there's a sense of freedom in FOAM that gives it a special magic. A lot of people talk about the lyrics being trash, but I stand by my point that Billie's lyrics this time are intentionally provocative and raw, and mostly graphic to evoke a specific feeling in the listener.

My favorites are Teenage Teenager (anyone who doesn't like it is tasteless, I don't make the rules), Graffitia, Junkies on a High, Meet me on the Roof, FOA and Take the Money. And yes, I almost listed the entire album, it be like that sometimes.

Totally agree foam feels like Green Day taking a breath of fresh air they have been wanting for a long time

Man I Love meet me on the roof. I got chills after first listening.

I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me some. I think it's decent. Maybe it will grow on me some more

That's part of what it means to re-work a song, tho.

This! It feels like it started with the trilogy, but they got scared off after the bad reception but I'm glad the'yre embracing it. More of Sugar Youth, Graffitia, Stab you in the heart type stuff plz Green Day
