Popular Post DookieLukie Posted February 2, 2020 Popular Post Posted February 2, 2020 Shocking how bright this album sounds given how dark the lyrics are. Nice contrast. 8 Quote
Lacky Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Well, I've listened to the new album. Teenager, Stab you in the heart, meet me on the Roof and Graffitia are amazing. Junkies on a high is fucking cool. This record is a rock n roll rollercoaster and the production is great. One of their record with the best quality in terms of sound. We were afraid because it's 26 minutes short. I wish I could be this good when I don't last a lot having sex ♥️ 1 Quote
KGLWW Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 The singles sound really different in this vinyl rip. I just wonder how similar it will be with the final digital files. Cause the father of all single sounds terrible compared to this version 1 Quote

That's because only the left channel was ripped from the vinyl, so everything that was panned to the right is absent, and everything in the center (like the lead vocals, drums) are half the volume. This can be heard in Father of All at 1:14 when Mike's bassline plays on the right side, and that's completely gone here. It's one of my favorite parts of that whole song so I'm just afraid that I might miss out on a lot of stuff with the other songs if I listen to these, so I haven't bothered yet. 3 Quote

Yeah it's because it's just a mono rip of a vinyl, there's a lot of elements missing but I think it works for this album because it gives it a real garage rock band vibe. I like that some people prefer the way the singles sound here and I can understand why Just now, Grinch said: That's because only the left channel was recorded, so everything that was panned to the right is absent, and everything in the center (like the lead vocals, drums) are half the volume. I am actually kind of worried that I might not like the CD version of TTMAC because it might not sound as raw and dirty XD Quote
alexander_seiter Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 This is a really good album and I like most of it! But Junkies On A High is the worst green day song ever. Sounds like Imagine Dragons. And now I'm going to listen to Sugar Youth 100 times in a row. 2 1 Quote

Cause the father of all single sounds terrible compared to this version Well, mainly two reasons: - The rip is a mono sounding rip of the vynil. With mono, the absence of panning can mask/unmask things. - Vynil needs to be mixed and mastered diffently to be playable, so it will be different compared to digital/CD versions Quote
realDonaldTrump Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 i go to youtube to see if any leaks are up by searching green day and sorting by upload date, and the most recent uploads are this guy posting stills of japanese girls in bikinis to random green day songs. lmfao 2 Quote
Beyza Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 I won’t listen to the leaks but as I saw from all the comments even on Reddit and stuff, rest of the songs are surprisingly good, very excited for Friday! 1 Quote
cav9mm Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Very happy with this . I can’t guess where the songs are going, which is good. The first three singles sound a lot better in the context of the album. Kudos to butch walker , the production is great. its short , but we knew that. ‘Always leave them wanting more “ eh ? The risk payed off in my opinion. 1 Quote
EMS-Gd Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 I hope that the stereo version don't ruins the album. Quote
cav9mm Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 “ stab you in the heart” does remind me an awful lot of “fuck time” Thats the only thing I can critique , that’s it. Quote
W_FInkThePlatypusHunter Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 I’m really enjoying this album. I can’t wait till we have the stereo mix from the official release. So while I’m busy gluing back the tiny shards of my copy of Nimrod back together, what’s everyone’s favorite song off the new record(who’s heard it)and why is it Sugar Youth? lol Quote
Otis Big Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Graffitia is Rudy Can’t Fail by The Clash. I really like it a lot though. Quote
