Montclare
Meet Me on the Roof reminds me so much of another song and I can't place what it is. Stab You in the Heart is definitely like Hippy Hippy Shake. I'd say Take the Money and Crawl is my favorite of the songs we haven't heard yet, but it kind of sounds like Billie is singing in a tube. Be interesting to hear the final version, because some of these sound kind of thin, and I wonder if it's the production or just because it's a rip. You can definitely hear new wave influences on several songs here.

Same, it's not typical for them, but maybe that's why it's an immediate favorite

Popular Post ANTI
Ok, even if i'm a little more mixed on side B, the album definitely slaps and it's the breath of fresh air they needed. Stab You in the Heart is a little too on the nose in the rock&rollness, so I have to be in a specific mood to appreciate it the cheesiness more. Sugar Youth is a straight up banger, I feel the filters really fit the song, nothing too spectacular, but still a rocking song. Junkies on a High is a GROOVER, I loved it, the instrumental is kinda dirty and dark, it fits the lyrics perfectly and I love how new instruments keep layering as the song carries on in a very subtle way. Take the Money and Crawl is my favorite of the more rock&roll inspired songs, the intro adds an special touch, the vocal delivery of the verses in the same tempo as the guitar riff is very cool and I loved the solo with the special effects. Graffitia kinda reminds me of The Pedestrian at first, but the sudden switch of the chorus takes it to another level, because goddammit I love their harmonies, this is such a great ending song with the fade out. Overall, the album is heavy on the 60's inspiration, but they make it their own to not sound derivative at all, and you can definitely tell they had fun making it, it's got a very spontaneous feel to it. Honestly, this album is great and I won't hear otherwise. 4
