Christian's Inferno!
This album is looking to be their worst to date. Unless the rest of the tracks are much better than what we've already heard, I don't see an alternative. I honestly didn't think I would rank a new GD album below 39/Smooth but it looks like this is gonna be the one.

I can’t believe people are lapping it up. I’m sorry that some of us hold them to a standard but this is below par. People can laugh but I’m being serious. “Yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah” “bulletproof backpack”. People reading into the lyrics like it’s a sacred text 😂😂😂😂 Um they really dont owe you anything though 7 2 1

Like, when it really comes down to it, let people enjoy whatever music they want, y'know? Haha. _____________ On a new general note. I feel like GD will never become "pop" in the truest sense no matter what they did with their musical style, just bc the average person would, going off of their knowledge from 2005, (as that was probably when they were most "popular" and even that normie popularity came from the perception of them being "edgy" imo) still associate them with more of an alternative scene for the same reasons. So it's ok ppl! You don't have to "worry" about normies attacking 2

I think that the idea that Billie had expressed about a second album was either him being facetious or joining Panicland in trolling us (as Green Day knew about Panicland apparently) or just expressing an idea he thought was fun but probably would never come into fruition. A second album would be lit though

Billie just said that they could potentially release something new in a short time, since if a new deal is not signed, they can essentially do whatever they want with their music. But about the WB/going independent thing, also we don’t know nothing at the moment, they said they were negotiating their deal with Warner. We don’t know how that went/if it is still happening. And we don’t know if leaving Warner means going independent.

Such a weird period in GD but part of that is due to changes in the industry, decline in record sales as a whole and for GD and just their age being that 27-30 age group. I'm there now and you see some people excited to embrace the next chapter of their lives and are proactive about it. You have those who want to do that but are hesitant or don't even know how to start. Or they want something but they want to do it while walking a path that doesn't lead them there. Then you have those who are stuck in their old ways never willing to evolve cause they might "change". I mean the 27 club is a thing for a reason. It's a depressing era of someone's life. You can sometimes feel alone and it either can be a positive thing or negative thing at different times. When I was small like 5 years old people would come over Friday night to see my parents and bring their kids. We would have fun and then they'd leave late at night and by that time us kids were passing out or were passed out. The next morning I'd go downstairs and just see the mess we left behind and I'd remember all those good times from the night before and look at the mess and it felt somewhat empty. Like the ghosts from the night before were still there in some way that's lifeless. That's how I kinda feel permanently in a way right now. 37 minutes ago, EmmaCharlatan&Saints said: Um they really dont owe you anything though I agree lol at anyone who thinks spending money on GD's previous albums on tours gives them some kind of say in the artistic direction of the band. Billie will literally say don't buy the fucking album. I would second that. Nobody is making you spend money. Next time invest in the stock market instead if you value your money that much. 26 minutes ago, Killjoy From Detroit said: Oh so you just want them to play songs about kidney stones and arthritis as someone who suffers from a lifelong kidney disease and has passed over 1000 stones in the last decade I would actually love that
Billie Joes Eyelids
10 hours ago, HAPPY ROOTING UNICORN said: I don’t know enough about you and your post history, and sorry if I use your post as an excuse to write what follows even if it doesn’t necessarily apply to you, but in this community there’s clearly people who cannot like a song from this band if it’s not either traditional punk rock or emotional pop rock/punk. Otherwise I don’t understand why (some) people are calling this basic pop, trash, the end of this band or whatsoever, and a similar reaction didn’t not even remotely occur when they released songs like Oh Love and Revolution Radio. Of course IMHO, but these two songs add much less to the grow th and story of the band then what we heard so far from FOAMF. Again I am sorry, I don’t know you well enough and probably this does not apply to you, but there’s a part of this fandom that will never appreciate anything from this band If it’s not another variation of AI or WMUWSE, and this does not emerged only with the release of these three songs. It happens any time a member of the band get close to a “non desired” artist like Billie Eilish, when hip hop is associated to their music (gosh we spend 10 pages discussing the appearance of a rapper in a GD video, and it didn’t even happen in the end), whenever they approach something slightly different from their history (see the blasting of Butch Walker the moment his collaboration was even only rumored, or the release of Dos). Of course, people can dislike this music, gosh it’s not that I like EVERYTHING. You can prefer a different use of music instruments, vocal filters or whatever. But for ffs, it make me laugh my ass off when people declare the “end of this band” because (and I’m paraphrasing) “this is way too pop and shitty kind of pop”, the lyrics are too bad and it’s a fact”, “this cannot give any emotion to anyone” and so on. Please tell what a song like KYE added to the history of this band, or even to the history of music, lol. Everyone is entitled to dislike these songs, the use of electronic music components, falsetto, or whatsoever, but geez, this might be too pop but I bet y’all were loving 21 Guns when it came out. You know, this band is not Pink Floyd and 21CB is not The Wall, and if you think rock music has to be complicated to be good, it might shock you but Green Day has produced pop music since 1994. Someone said something like “it’s not the same, that was Green Day creating their own genre, this is just flatting out on existing pop”. Well, I think that’s absolutely wrong, this is them using existing genres in a smart and unique way as they didn’t do since 2004 to me. I even read people complaining because GD apparently is not allowed to make music similar to FBHT cause that’s a side project. G-E-E-Z. Damn, if this music doesn’t give you any emotion it doesn’t me it doesn’t give any emotion to the rest of the world. You can dislike it ffs, but this elitist gatekeeping attitude that label as a fact its opinion about this record and music in general sometimes is fucking annoying. You make me fucking hope the next 7 songs are a weird mix of new wave, hip hop and foxboro hot tubs. Accept that the band likes stuff you don’t, that they made music you don’t like, and accept that this doesn’t make it automatically bad for everyone else. Sorry for the unrequested rant. I’ll go back to enjoy these songs, which by the way listened in sequence are a total banger ❤️ PREACH!!! This is exactly how I feel. And a lot of other people who prefer not to post about it. Thanks for speaking for us and explaining it well.
