How is it not relevant to FOAMF which has an influence in other genres of music such as rap and motown which is not traditionally present on other alternative or punk records?

Get a grip. This thread has really fallen off the deep end.

So... Anyone find the stream yet?

The deep end is the whole stream and leak that doesn't exist lol The self righteous posts attempting to be "on topic" when all they do is spin everyone in a circle is getting old man.

Talk about actual stuff like influences, producers, songwriting and what we could possibly expect. Oh Yeah that's right no one actually cares to be that on topic anymore here. Only time we're on topic is to trash the album we've only heard 20% of.

It was no longer comparing it to FOAM, just arguing how they view it.  That is where it has gotten off topic.  Along with all the  "This thread is a hot mess" comments.  No issue if you keep the connection to FOAM but is was losing that connection as it dragged on.

I got so excited just now, I saw a site that claimed to have lyrics for Sugar Youth, but the whole page was blank except for the title 😐

They typically set lyrics sites up early for upcoming albums that have released track lists. It will be filled out if the album leaks or when it is officially released.

Lyrics that show up on pages before we heard the song are typically just click bait.

The comparing and contrasting to FOAM was implied. We're trying to decide if FOAMF is real music.

Your post may have been.  Others were not.  It was a general warning/ gentle reminder to keep FOAM in the conversation, and keep it from becoming a long winded debate about if GDCer's music tastes are legit while not actually tying  back into FOAM at all.   If you are already doing that, you had nothing to worry about.

I wonder who else worked on the album.

We know that Green Day, Butch Walker and Chris Dugan worked on the album, but what about musicians?

From 1039 to Insomniac, the music was made by Billie+Mike+Al/Tre

From Nimrod and onward, there have always been additional musicians.  Weather it be one guy playing a non-audible trumpet or 5 individuals making up a very nice atmosphere on Warning, there hasn't been a 'pure' Billie/Mike/Tre album in 25 years!

Could Father of All be the return to that basic studio set up?  Or will somebody else be in there, fiddling or trumpeting, or pianoing.

Butch Walker could be adding vocals or guitars, but I don't think so .

We will find out soon.

very.  very.   soon.

I have been wondering this as well.  So far it seems like a return to basics, but their influences they have mentioned makes me wonder if they brought anyone else in.

I will be curious to head the whole album, right now it hasn't been anything special to me.  Just kinda gets lost in the music collection.

She didn't record anything for this record, so I could let that one slide.  She's not one of the 'personal" of the album.

But yeah, it won't just be the three guys.  You're right.

Sorry GDC fans who can't even play an open note on guitar who admit they sit on their asses all day achieving fuck all disagree 😂 Yoko Ono IS a musician because she says she is!

I miss the old GD days where people would actually break this down into a whole other level of thought. Now you just get "this is stupid". Way to use your brains to explain your opinion on a controversial topic guys! FOAMF is perfect for these people very simple and to the point! Know Your Audience!

I don't think FOAMF is a money grab though. Hella Mega is more the bullseye for money grab. I say that positively though. They put what they believe is high value and they raised the price based on that. For me there's not really any added value except for the fact they sound really great live right now.

They could for older songs. It wouldn't be practical for the newer songs (post AI) because a lot of the songs were composed knowing they had these resources available to them.

It's not impossible to strip it down because of how Billie writes music but I don't think it's something they'd explore.

For me there's more fun in the speculating and what ifs. I find on this forum now once the song drops it's just a huge tally of "I like it" or "I dont like it" and all the participants keep jumping back and forth between the two lmao I get it though being a fan of this band is such an in depth thing and they have so many songs and eras and albums. That's what keeps it easy being a fan. There's something in the discography for every moment of your life. New music can be shocking as well cause it's something we haven't heard them do before. I'd be lying to say I wasn't shocked when i first heard FOAMF. The confusion and shock warranted a couple more listens to digest it.

Before going into listening to the album we need to remember that this fan base is way too large to be able to make everyone happy or even the majority happy. It's evident in our trilogy tracklists. I hardly ever see the same people pick the same group of songs if they had to condense it to a 14-18 song album. For me that's the most interesting part about the effort.

They're going to proceed either with doing what they feel like doing or moving in a direction that may be best for the band at the present time and in the future. For me I'm going into this album excited to hear that. What I love is that all the sings are track 1-3. Hearing those songs again when first spinning the vinyl is going to build up that excitement for Track 4 and the rest of the album.

I don't care about opinions of people on here, billboard positions, first week sales or streaming numbers. I want to go into it with a state of no opinions or expectations and take it in. I want it to be personal without the influences of external factors.

wish more people would think like this. And yeah, I had to listen to FOAM about 30 times before i ended up really liking it. Then I played the shit out of it on piano!

They definitely could and oh my that would be fun.

I was thinking alot of songs would either have to be axed or sound completely different, but looking at an average set from 2017, I don't see any songs that would couldn't sound good as a three piece.

Imagine.  Three spotlights.  Three guys.

Wow.

One post by one user that tries to help get it back on track is fine.  Anything more is just as bad as the off topic conversation, and unhelpful.

If Billie had a face mic on I feel like they could pull it off for the most part. That way he could run all over the stage and talk to the audience, but still be playing at the same time.

Dreaming about a studio or live version of surrender/bastards of young as an itunes bonus track or something like that... As they did with 21st century with a quick one... I know the probability is 0,00001‰
