I made a quick playlist when I had a drive the other day and I included FOAM and Ready fire. I gotta say, they work really well as driving songs.

They are  both songs that benefit with the volume all the way up

There are people here who think to be able to tell who's a musician and who's not, what's good music and what's not

Well he once also tried to convince me I'm not smart enough to realize the effort behind revrad as I said I didn't like it and the music felt lazy for green day's standarts imo, but nobody cared then since people like revrad.

Sorry for the long post, I would probably skip it myself :P

I think when you talk about effort it’s hard to enter this kind of discussion avoiding “absolute statements”. When you say “smart enough to realize the effort...” it sounds like this is an absolute thing that either you can realize or not. You’re not talking anymore about weather you like the music or not, but about weather the music has intrinsically more or less value than something else, due to more or less time, artistic sweat, creativity, or whatever you think effort is, put it in it.
Which is kinda in the same domain of saying that Drake does not do music because he has a producer or other artists heavily supporting the composition of his songs. Or that GD and other punk bands barely do music because they’re not Mozart nor Pink Floyd and “they use only three chords bla bla bla”.

Put it in another way, what is the ground to say GD has put more or less effort in any of their record? I imagine that less effort means less effort put in the music composition, in finding a certain sound or in writing the lyrics, in putting passion in the recording sessions, but also less effort in the mixing and mastering, and the whole production process.
Does it require more effort from the band to create an album like 21CB, that could be considered by someone as heavily derivative of AI and its success, or to self produce a record like RR in 2016? Hard to say, and the same applies to a record or and song like FOAM. Does it take more effort from the band to compose a song like that, that leave the band and their fanbase’s comfort zone, or to write another more classic punk rock song on the lines of American Idiot?
One could say the first, someone else the second because writing another relevant punk rock song is not an easy task in 2020. Personally I stay out the “effort zone” because I don’t have enough knowledge to say how much the band worked, in terms of time, creativity, passion, artistic process or whatever on FOAM rather than another song. And honestly I don’t need that to decide weather I like and want to listen to a song or not.

Do you guys predict Oh yeah! Will be better than, equal to, or worse than Oh Love?

Oh Love is fantastic, but I think they can outdo themselves.

Is this one of those things where you guys are making shit up again?

Until the album comes out, all speculation is true.

This album could be Magnum Assholes and have a bull on the front cover.

and have songs like "Idiot Love" and "Make my Face Fall off"

NOTHING IN CONFIRMED.

:)

Nobody is discussing the other songs.   I know we haven't heard them, but we can analysis the titles to no end.

"Heart" is a reoccurring theme in Green Day music.   It's one of their buzz words.   They get crushed, broken and now stabbed.   Stabbed may have been used before, but I'm not sure.

I don't think we've heard them discuss roofs before, but they've talked about us meeting them.   Billie wanted us to meet him at the bathroom stall and some other questionable places.

"I was a Teenage Teenager Teenaging"  sounds like the line from "Too Dumb to Die" and I am certain there is a connection.   They will change the title to "Wake Me Up When September Ends III:   Wake Me Up Again

"Sugar Youth", the landscape of a lie.   The cracks on my skin can prove - as the years will testify.   Say your prayers and light a fire.   We're gonna start war....

"Junkies" could be a call back to "Still Breathing" AND "Viva La Gloria".     - I'm doing these off the top of my head, there are SO many more connections.   Too many too soon.

"Take the Money and Crawl" is kind of a fresh one.   Although in a quick google search, I came up with this nonsense.   What the heck???

https://www.metrolyrics.com/city-of-the-damned-lyrics-green-day.html

and finally "Graffitia".

Again, a callback to 21st Century Breakdown.

Guys, this is 21st Century Breakdown II!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From my analysis of the titles, there are one connection to American Idiot, two from Tre and Revolution Radio and 3 from 21st Century Breakdown.

I can get down with an album that sounds like a combination of those albums, plus 2% manic soul, motown and glam.

All their latest sounds, but with added spice!

Wonder if this was an influence on 'I Was a Teenage Teenager'...

Spunk Volcano and the Eruptions with a song that just happens to be called 'Teenage Teenagers' .

The GD title remains me of Against Me! as well. 'I Was a Teenage Anarchist'.

So this means it’s streaming somewhere and you have to be a sleuth to find it?

If you click on the profile of whoever updated the information it shows that he created lots of groups to watch films online at 123movies, so I'm guessing there's nothing behind it.

They really do. They captured a good energy in the recording. That's one thing Butch Walker couldn't destroy! 😂

On a side note: So many GDCers got viruses this week from trying to get a leak that doesn't exist
