Love is For Losers production was a bit weird but was still fine. The production on these new songs is the first time it's bothered me though. No issue with RevRad production at all? The huge changes in volume don’t bother you? I agree with the trilogy production, I quite like it. Production value peaked with 21stCB, its an incredible sounding record.

Never understood the complaints about the trilogy production, they are well produced albums that just had some questionable choices made. The only album that bothered me in terms of production is RevRad which sucks because it is a fantastic album. Those drastic volume changes mid song though are brutal.
Popular Post HAPPY ZOMBIE UNICORN
I don't understand the complaints about the 21CB production, IMHO that record is solid as a stone from that perspective. But I think the Trilogy and RR did have some production issues. For the Trilogy I do agree that those records are terribly underrated and that most of the problems didn't came from the records themselves. But I think a different producer could have helped the band to find a stronger way to put together those songs, maybe I'm wrong tho. It was still nice to receive those 37 songs in 6 months, despite everything, and there are some really, really cool tunes in there. IMHO RR has some questionable mastering choices, that a producer would have probably directed in a different way. That said, after 3 years from its release I listen more to RR than 21CB and AI, and I've never been that bothered about the equalisation/balance issues. Considering that it's a self produced work, I think it's pretty amazing. No complaints for the new record so far, FOAMF especially sounds neat. If Billie wants to sing in falsetto and you don't like it, it's not the production you have to blame 7

They actually don't bother me that much. For me it serves as some kind of effect. Has a bit of a charm to it in a weird GD way. I love how loud those big guitar bursts are. I agree though AI and 21cb were peaks for production. Dookie and Insomniac were also recorded and produced very well. What do you guys think about Nimrod and Warning's production? 1 hour ago, HAPPY ROOTING UNICORN said: No complaints for the new record so far, FOAMF especially sounds neat. IDK, I would have to hear it first. I don't really find anything controversial production wise so far. To me it looks like the producer has been picked based on the artistic choices of the band, and not the opposite.

But Butch Walker seems a versatile and skilled producer, maybe it's what they needed for this kind of record, let's hear it first, I don't see reasons to crucify him yet

I didn't have in issue with that bc I thought it showed that they were having fun with their attempt at self production, so it was amusing and I got a kick out of it. The best part is the screechy feedback sound (or whatever that is) at the end of Bouncing of the Wall... I could just imagine the sly looks on their faces as they turned knobs and made it louder and louder

How can you say that the production of the trilogy was good? They programmed the Autotune on Billies voice wrong at some points. For example on Stay the night 3:31 And the whole mixing was very "Powerless". Im really exited for FOAM because its finally some tilogy like stuff but much better produced. They really did the right thing with building their own OTIS Studio but I like the trilogy despite the bad production.
