A game that has no meaning on the hockey season. It’s a weekend strictly for the fans. I mean, for us who don't care about h****y, it's okay to liken it to Super Bowl. It has a band playing in the middle of the game

That is played in June and is a 7 game series with the last 2 teams standing.

Idk when it's happening though. The hockey equivalent would be the Stanley Cup Finals which is more like the baseball World Series because it is a series of games that decides the winner not just one like the Superbowl. The All Star game in hockey is like the All Star Game in baseball or the Pro Bowl in US Football, they are like fantasy teams made of star players that play each other for fun and exhibition only. The All Star NHL weekend is the last weekend in January just a week before FOAM comes out so a little late to promote a new single release but if a single comes out a few weeks before they will likely play it at the game. The super bowl garners a way larger tv audience. Advertisers spend upwards of $3 million USD for one 30 second spot during the game. Where I live it is absolutely unavoidable even though you don't care about it. There's the hockey cup going on? People will talk about. People will expect you to have watched the game. Hockey small talk, anyone? Oh no, the game with THE RUSSIANS? The entire country stops to watch. Everyone is a patriot now. Everyone hates Russia. (To be fair, everyone hates Russia regardless). You can't escape hockey in your free time but you can't escape hockey anywhere else. Hockey watching in school was a thing. Instead of class. No chance to opt out. No one cares if you came to school despite feeling sick just to write a test, sorry, you have to watch hockey now instead. That's the rule. As I type this an ad came up playing in the background. There's Jaromir Jagr in it. Then, the all-permeating game merged into a until then, fairly hockey free space. Green Day is the NHL jingle band now. I am not having this. I'm ignoring it. It does not exist. 1

Flashback
Why the fuck did they use this „BOOM“ sample at the beginning of FRA‘s bridge? That‘s so useless in a rock song 😂

Even if I like the songs, they’re disposable. Although I like both songs so far I agree that if they are an indication of what the rest of the album will sound like, the album as a whole will be pretty disposable. As in a fun and sometimes exhilarating 26 minutes, but something you forget soon after and stop playing after 6 - 12 months. I hope I'm wrong but at this point I can't see there being any growers / songs that stand the test of time like Restless Heart Syndrome. For me it varies a lot from time to time, but today I am very keen towards having a diverse and fun record from the band, and if it’s a good one it will probably live in my ears for a while, at least FOAM has passed the test so far FRA a little less but it’s still a fun song to listen to. Right now I am more keen to include FRA in my playlist rather then RevRad (song) for example, but that’s just my music taste in this moment If have to think which records I have been most keen to listen to in the last couple of years these will probably be Nimrod, Love is for losers and my version of a 12 songs Trilogy. More in general, the new records I have listened to the most in 2019 are probably Berkeley’s on fire by the SWMRS and Internationally Unknown by Rat Boy, which are probably classifiable as fun cross genre records. On the other hand today I find pretty heavy and unlikely to listen to records like AI, RevRad and 21CB front to back, except some special occasions, and still having some songs I love on constant repeat. So yeah, as long as it will be good music, if it follows this pattern I will be extremely happy
That Dude
What if there is a bonus track and it's ROME FALLS! or as we live with Father of All, we start to hear something. We've been duped and THIS is in fact Panic-Guys and Magnum Opus is Green Day???? LOL. Only 5 weeks away now, I am so excited! Live shows may the favorite part for some people, but for me, the albums are the best part. I can't believe my copy of Nimrod still plays perfectly after 23 years. Heck, the cds I bought in 2018 are already skipping and they didn't get played that much. They just dont' make 'em like they used to, you darn younger millennials! Gotta go to work now, bye. 1
