I was actually looking at Halloween skeletons yesterday thinking someone needs to make a unicorn one. These are at Walgreens! I think I saw some in Jewel also. Denice
I've really been loving FOAM lately and I listen to it a lot in my car. I don't like Fire, Ready, Aim as much, but I think it's a fun song, it's really not that bad. I'm very excited for the album, can't wait to hear the rest of the songs. 😄February seems so far away though. I hope time moves fast.

Its now October and we're looking at our second single already. Either we're going to have a really long wait between singles, or they'll put loads out before the release I feel like all the singles will be released up front and then album drops and focus is on Hella Mega I feel like once a month we'll have a date to look forward to whether it's an appearance on a show or a song that's dropping Maybe as we get closer some small intimate secret shows where we get to hear some of the new songs played live
DookieLukie
After seeing Billie post that fan made poster with his FOAM description, I kind of see what he's going for. Seems the descriptions are in the style of old, cheesy music adverts ("The new soul, glam" etc) you might see in the 50s/60s.

He did say that it was that style and time of music that he used as an influence

It was a great poster they should buy it off that artist and sell them.
Popular Post Doggins
Its like Green Day are throwing a massive party that I don't feel like going to. But I'll go along anyway because we're old friends and I may end up enjoying myself.. or I may just check it out and go home early.. At least they seem to be having fun..
michael1989
Although these two new songs do nothing for me lyrically, I still really enjoy them. Great fun. To me it's Green Day at their most disposable. Fun and exhilarating while you listen, but not something you really think about after. I think if you lower / adjust your expectations, this album should be a lot of fun.

Popular Post DookieLukie
I don't think the songs are actually bad. They're catchy for sure. I guess my expectation was just different from GD at this point in their career. They keep going back to this "stipped down, simple rock" music as if they haven't done that for 80% of their career. They keep pretending they are going into new territory but they've DONE THIS BEFORE (Foxboro, Trilogy). I guess I just expected more complete songs that you can tell a lot of work was put into. Songs with more detail and subtlety. People hate on Weezer but at least you can tell that they really take time fleshing out songs. Green Day seems like they want to just write "easy A" songs and present it as some sort of commentary or stylistic choice. I like the new songs, but they've been writing short punk songs since 1988 (with better lyrics and more fully fleshed out). Why do they keep acting like this stuff is new for them?

They can't promote it as "we're doing something that's simple and fun because fuck it, we can't be assed with anything more and this is what we do the best." It's likely the truth but doesn't sound attractive

Popular Post pacejunkie punk
Just listening to the Longshot album and if you eliminate the final track which is a cover anyway there are ten tracks that clock in at around 28 minutes. So I expect FOAMF with a similar number of tracks and total run time if the songs are fun it should feel like a complete album at least.

That Dude
I wonder where this album will sit on my personal ranking of Green Day albums! Nothing can really touch my impenetrable top three, but an amazing album could potentially take the number 4 spot. Will FOAM be able to do that? I'm not entirely sure yet, but I can make some predictions. I don't have the reverence for Dookie that most people do. I love it, it's fairly high on my list.... but I'm probably in the minority thinking I may like FOAM more! I think that's a possibility. I really enjoyed Rev Rad a heck of a lot. After hearing 20 percent of Father of All, I'm going to be optimistic and say it'll land my #5 spot. Worst case scenario, I'd say it ends up between Breakdown and Insomniac, putting at #10. Maybe just below Insomniac, putting it at #11. I just don't see it being less enjoyable than either of their pre-dookie albums. I would be pretty bummed if Kerplunk made my ear happier than this album. 1.American Idiot 2.Warning 3.Nimrod 4.Revolution Radio 5.Dookie 6.Tre 7.Uno 8.Dos 9.21st Century Breakdown 10.Insomniac 11.1039 Smoothed 12.Kerplunk I wonder if ANY songs on the new album will sound like traditional Green Day? Kind of hope there's none of that. No old Green Day, only new! 1
