Platypus2000
Take The Money and Crawl is decent too actually, riff wise, lyrics are awful though. 4 minutes ago, Seanz25 said: Don't forget it's a riff they've previously used in a song like 2 or 3 albums ago 😂 Would rather that than this plodding Motown crap they’re doing 😂😂
Popular Post Digoco
I'm listening the album again, now in a legal way and high quality. All that comes to my mind is that in recent years most of the biggest rock bands are just touring for the umpteenth time, making as less effort as possible. Same songs, similar setlists, only changing the stage. Easy money, zero respect. The excuses are many: an anniversary of an album or the band, an endless farewell tour, an unnecessary reunion... Then you have the Green Day case. After all these years they could just take it easy and tour with the Dookie/ AI anniversary excuse, selling out immediately an uncountable number of arenas or even stadiums. But they have something that other acts are lacking, respect for their fandom and music. Even after 30 years they want to try different sensations and they are looking for new sounds instead of going for the safe road. And they are still capable of delivering outstanding music as Graffitia. This is why I love Green Day 6
Platypus2000
I’m obviously in the minority that think it’s awful I guess. I’m not asking people to agree with me, I’m just surprised that people have lowered their standards. 1
madafaka
MMOTR and Teenage Teenager is not doing it for me on first listen. Stab You in the Heart is a fun take on bluesy rocknroll, but I can guarantee it will lose it's novelty REAL fast, as it's pretty generic. This is not looking promising. Sugar Youth, here we go... Starts bad, picks up after the first bridge and chorus - best song on the album so far I think! Ended before it started though Junkies on a High. What's up with the vocal effects... why? So distracting. Music is not bad, not great. The snippets of lyrics I catch are a little cringe though. And now we're in a western. TtMaC. Again, I don't like the effect. I dig the little scratch in the vocal track though. That's new territory for GD I think I dig Graffitia, so at least I have one new song that I really like!! But overall, very underwhelming. Maybe it'll grow on me... MOOTIK please

And then when they perform the songs live, they sound even better. Good lord! haha
Beerjeezus
I wouldn't say Hella Mega is a sign of respect towards the fandom, but the fact that they're still reinventing themselves on album 13 is really cool

When they don't deliver, people get bummed. I personally would rather listen to this album than anything on the radio. And after listening to it for a few times through and through, it's enjoyable.

Either this album is minimum effort, or Billie really has lost the spark... His lyrics are getting less and less creative as the years go by, and now they kinda seem like parodies of Green Day songs - rehashing the same themes, same words, same phrases, as if to play on my nostalgia... It's not working though Except Graffitia, the one beacon of hope on this album!!!

Also, I didn’t lower my expectations, I just accept the band wants to branch out more. That’s not an insult to you but rather me not caring if they stick to their traditional sound. I mean, most bands put all of their focus on one band, one album at a time. He's knocking out multiple bands, multiple songs for different albums lol So when it comes to one side (Green Day), we're definitely going to hear rehashed themes since we all flock to whatever he releases. Popular Post Spike
So I hated the singles. I haven't been excited about this album at all. I didn't even bother with the leaks. And you know what? I think it absolutely slaps. So much fun, what a cracking little record. 8
luketrebilliemike
“stab you in the heart “ is a bop. it’s not the best album, but it’s fun, it doesn’t take it self to seriously. You can tell all the songs come from this album, you got the party feeling. It feels similar to dos and Foxboro hot tubs. I don’t really care for the reviews, If you listen to it and like it that’s all that matters. They gonna be Making albums even if they don’t ever sell well. Green day don’t really need the money at this point ! My rate would be 7.7/10.
