Yes it’s from the heart because it’s all from personal stuff within the guy’s lives. I love everything they’ve done apart from this new shit show. This very much seems to be a personal album.

Maybe it's because I've personally drew a storyline from the songs on RevRad but to me it had always made sense. I'm just not into the music and arrangements of the songs. It was a good album though.

I personally think the lyrics are miles better than anything since 21CB. You're sort of missing the point if you just think this album is about not caring “Oh yeah come on honey, lying in a bed of blood and money” ”Stick a hammer in your mouth, you’re a liar” “I think I lost my phone, feeling like a toothache” “You can take a walk or you can suck my cock” “My pride is my pornography, Kool-Aid is my motto” Don’t tell me these lyrics are better than most of the trilogy and RevRad, seriously? You’re off your nut.

Pretty much agree with his sentiments towards that track, it's definitely one of the worst on the album. Reckon he'll give it a mid tier nothing special type review personally. Equally he may give it a pasting 😂 I really don’t know what he will give the album. He seems to like experimentation, so that box is checked off, but will he think it is executed well is the question.

jengd
I love Revrad but it’s not ground breaking in any way. I could believe it was a regrouping, a reflection and painful at times, as ever with these guys, it’s very personal, but at no point was I surprised by anything on it. That’s not a problem unless you make a habit of it. I like that the new album seems to pull people up short, going what did I just hear!!! Anyway, nearly midnight, off to get my proper download 😋

You’re off your nut. Those lines in particular, no. But I could counter that with the entirety of Youngblood. Honestly I usually care a lot bout lyrics with Green Day records, but there’s something about this album that really does feel like a party so I don’t even care.

You’re off your nut. I'm an overanalyzer but reading through every track's lyrics gave me the idea that BJA may have been reading Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States. There's a chapter in that book that talks about corporations, robber barons, and the rise of socialist strikers that uses the term something along the lines of "a life of blood and money" I'm pretty sure. Not to mention the parallels I saw in Graffitia. Of course I am probably overanalyzing this but it's something to think about, I guess. Also these lyrics are imho better than the ones to Lady Cobra hahahaha Definitely not better than the majority of RevRad in terms of linguistic depth from my perspective though. 1

You’re off your nut. I just think the songs make more sense. It can be confusing here sometimes too but not as much. I just connect with it more. Seems to flow more naturally. I think the highs of rev rad were probably a bit better but I think a good portion of this album is either pretty good to really strong

Platypus2000
Stab You In The Heart and Sugar Youth are definitely the only redeeming factors, bet they won’t play them live because they’re good songs 😂
Travis
From front to back, this album is not too shabby. And if you listen to it in reverse order, it's still really good. I hate that it's so damn short, but I'm still glad that we have new music from these guys. Their sound will never grow old.
