Father of All Motherfuckers album - News and Media Coverage

I'll wait for the HQ versions to say for sure, but this album is very alive and bright. Even with the rip, you can hear all the instruments distinctly. More energy than RevRad for sure. Lots of cool little effects thrown in too.

Green Day is basically saying: "fuck this shit, all our side projects are basically who we are" 😂

That’s the reason I think this is the album that better portraits their personalities

Bad Butch Walker! Bad, bad dude!

One thing that is amazing about this record and that is clear despite the bad quality of the leak: these songs, finally, fucking progress. Teenager is a great example, in RR it would have probably been a flat song like Outlaws, here it’s a perfect example of progressive punk rock. It starts and finishes in two totally different states, and there’s a constant progression during verses and chorus. Or think about sugar youth, each verse it’s different to the previous one. Or Take the money and crawl and its variations within the chorus. Brilliant record. The last time GD did this was with 21CB (multi part songs don’t really count IMHO). Ironically enough, of the three singles only Oh yeah! does this, and in a much more limited way.

Yes, there's a lot more nuance in these songs that there was in their previous records. It's apparent in the song structures and also in instrumentals. Can't wait to listen to it in better quality. I know I'm overhearing a lot of it.

I don’t get the hate for Teenage Teenager, lol loving this song, yeah sounds like swmrs/weezer but still GD, love all the overlaying vocals at the end, can’t wait to hear it in stero.

This was the only one I really didn't like at first. I'm still not crazy about the lyrics. Like I don't find myself wanting to sing along or anything, but other than that, it's grown on me.

My dad, who only likes a handful of GD songs, thinks that FOAM is the best song they've released in years, and while I gotta hardcore disagree with that, it still makes me happy to hear him say it lmao.

Another really good indicator of the great relationship I think I will have with this record, and something that is marking a big difference with my experience with RR:  despite the fact that I have literally consumed the three singles during the past few months, now that I have listened to the whole thing a few times I don’t even remotely feel the need to skip them, they actually contribute to create a great flow and work much better then on their own. I was afraid of this, especially since they are the first three songs of the record it would have been very easy to just skip them and start from MMOTR. But that’s not the case at all.

A lot of pages ago I said how I would have probably started to skip the singles or listen to the whole thing on shuffle. But that’s not the case at all, the tracks and their order works perfectly as they are.

Ha! Must be a dad thing, mine thinks the same 😄

Any idea why Father of All...and Sugar Youth have asterisks next to their titles on the lyric sheet?

Take the money and crawl is a new favourite. It just came on while I was getting changed and I felt compelled to dance around the house in my underwear

I'm still trying to process Junkies on a high, it's the only one song that I'll wait the hq version to listen many times as possible to understand that idea clearly. My less favorite is I was teenage teenager, come on GD you can do better than that song, it's a long and simple tune that make it boring and I always skip it. Graffitia gives me queen, the who vibes, just awesome!

Alrightish album. Fun and all but very forgettable. Teenager and graffitia are the only ones that truly stand out. Glad the boys are still releasing music but I still the miss old times. I think this is their weakest album to date

Completly agree in everything, teenager and graffitia (I would change that order) excelent tracks, and the rest is very very weak for being Green Day. Is a Foxboro hot tubs album with two green Day songs

"Sugar Youth" is probably the inspiration for the cover.

It's got the callbacks to She's a Rebel, which had the iconic "She's holding on my heart like a hand grenade", which in turn, is the iconic American Idiot album cover.   I want to see a full body shot of this lovely creature one day.     But this song is about debauchery.   Billie is singing from the perspective of the unicorn, who is messed up Cocaine and Whiskey, hence the vomiting.   Also, a Prom Queen would never sleep with a punk rock Unicorn.

Are the lyrics wrong in the printed lyric sheet?   I swear I heard him saying "I need a rush" instead of "dangerous" at least once.

Romeo killed himself, so I guess Billie is saying he doesn't want to commit suicide here, which is cool.    It's a song about living dangerously.

Imagine a music video with a party-crazed unicorn (a furry-type costume)  In the beginning, he's rocking out in front of a big Mexican Flag, turned like in the American Idiot video.   Instead of slime, the flag starts pumping out blood in an insane recreation of the Idiot video.     The drunk bunny (now sober) tries reaching out to him, but he kills drunken bunny.

Later, we see him parting like the "Jesus of Suburbia" video.    In the climax, we see him and Whatshername battling in Mortal Kombat!!!!!

Green Day are performing an intimate concert down the street.   Unicorn can hear the music and let's Whatshername run away after beating her within an inch of her life.   He shakes off his rage, and heads to show.     He dresses in his best red tie and black shirt, and rocks out while Green Day play!

They pull him up on stage (we see intercut scenes where they invite him to replace Drunken Bunny)  and Billie Joe hugs him!

Everything seems to be turning around for Mr. Unicorn.

But then, as Green Day are about to finish the song - Mr. Unicorn pulls out a gun and shots them all dead on stage.

The next video could be a mockery of the Broken Dreams video, with a sad Unicorn walking around.

Hmmmm.
