Hey I haven't read any other posts as to not spoil any of the album, but is it supposed to sound like shit? Or have I just downloaded a bad version?

I got the one from the Kingdom, and Father of All the song, for example, sounds much shittier than the single version

It’s just the rip quality.

I haven't listen yet, but I think that the leaks available right now is in a bad quality.

That's why I'll wait until Friday when the CD arrive

Signed in just to give little bit of my thoughts about the album, what really bothers me is its production, while it is true this leak is mono I still feel like the most issues I am having with this record sterm from its production, Butch Walker is a pop producer, I feel like this album needed something rawer.

The released singles don't sound all that much better from the mono leak which is really worrying.

I appreacite the more energetic attempt. I think I may prefer this over Revolution Radio, it's really a shame how much abuse of vocal filters there is on this album, it really hinders the experience quite a bit.

I wouldn't really judge the production from a low quality rip. I'd wait for a good leak or the release to make up my mind for the production if I was you.

Yeah, I do get that argument, but even if you focus on the officially released songs we have, it isn't sounding all that good production wise imho. I also know how badly Butch Walker can make an album sound.

Not sure how you can judge the production value of a record from a mono version where you miss half of everything. That’s the main thing I’m holding my judgement on.

Graffitia is the best song on the record, probably it will be but it should have been a single from the beginning.

Way better choice than Father Of All... in my opinion.

I think it should have been a single instead of Oh Yeah or Ready Fire Aim 😂
Father of all it's okay for me

Ahhh it's really not terrible! Maybe too many gimmicky effects with the vocals and too many drum samples for my tastes, but they were going for a contemporary pop sound I guess

Uh I expected to hate this based on the first three singles but I think I dug all of the other songs? Pleasantly surprised

A tier

Sugar Youth, Graffitia

B tier

FOA, TTMAC, SYITH, FRA, MMOTR

C tier

Teenage Teenager, Oh Yeah, Junkies

I think it’s pretty cool how this kind of rating is pretty much interchangeable based on what kind of GD songs one prefers. I am sure there will be a lot of variation in this kind of ratings among fans, and that’s a good sign IMHO, that’s what happened for records like AI and Nimrod :)

yeah it's a matter of taste. Father Of All didn't grow on me as much as the other two. I'm going to see them in Milan (are you going?) and i hope they play Graffitia as well.

Listened a few times now, the first one to stand out for me was Take The Money And Crawl, my head was proper bopping along

Sugar Youth and Graffitia are the other two that caught my attention. Need to give it a few more hundred listens to properly pick each song out though. I'm quite excited to hear the proper versions in my ears after hearing this mono version, it's going to feel like I've come up to the surface after listening to it underwater!

I was really disappointed when I first heard Father Of All, but luckily it just turns out that was gonna be my least favourite on the album. And I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE Fire Ready Aim, it's the single I find myself putting on the most.

Really guys. As a hardcore green day fan who loves punk this album is complete shit and is real pain for my heart. first and last listen.

I respect your opinion as my love for Green Day came out of my love for punk. When I was heavily into punk GD was there and active with some great records.

21cb came out and I knew that this band was going somewhere else with it. 21cb fit into other genres I liked so I accepted and enjoyed that evolution. I understand experiments and evolution isn't for everyone. This record is vastly different and it's fresh. I enjoy some of the experiments and some aren't as great for me. Overall I'm enjoying it because I haven't heard this from them before.

Not that I wouldn't enjoy them creating a new set of classic sounding GD songs but isn't that what Revolution Radio was?

You're probably never gonna enjoy a new GD record from here forward. They're not going backwards they're moving forward in their sound and trying new things. They have nothing to prove.

Did you claim you wrote a song ?

No, I didn't write the song. I wrote one of the bass riffs. I was a very minimal part of the project.

Edit: So I'm partially joking on this just so you know. The bass line is very similar to a song I released in 2018. However, the legal action thing and saying I wrote it is 100% a joke. Even if it was 100% identical I would have never ever written a song in my life if it wasn't for GD.

I took more from GD than they took from me.
