I feel this album is gonna be like a Dos redemption arc. We are going full circle people, so you all better start appreciating it as the best trilogy album, because it is!

on the contrary, I'd probably like album more if I didn't relate it so heavily to Dos

sounds better than and a lot more fun than anything from 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, kerplunk, or Warning

Really? I still think Kerplunk is some of their best work & time they had. to each their own.

I think I can survive not listening to it until it's in stereo and in the right pitch. I really appreciate having it now but I honestly don't want to get the wrong first impression on what's only my second Green Day album drop

The pitch can easily be corrected in audacity using the released songs as reference

Ignore him, he's the local troll. Sheenius has been trying real hard, but he has a long way to go if he wants to beat Eric :P

On first listening playing from a laptop with no headphones - I really like it.  I look forward to a better quality listen with the lyrics because from what I can pick up there are some cracker lines.  I love the line in I was a teenage teenager "full of piss and vinegar" & good to hear kool aid got a run in Junkies on a High.

A very quick and short review of the album:

Father Of All
- Terrible use of the vocal filters. Love the drums, love the falsetto. If not for the 'uh-uh yeeaaaaah' that Billie can't ever pull off live and the filters it'd be amazing. It still slaps though since you get used to the filters.
Fire Ready Aim - A decent song that really grows on you. Great to hype you up and I find myself listening to it daily but it's a bit too much happening all at once for my taste and those claps are terrible. I'd probably love it if they just toned it down a bit.
Oh Yeah - I've listened to this countless times since it came out. Catchy and showcases their different sound this era pretty well I think. Billies voice is great in it and some parts of the lyrics I absolutely love. The chorus is on point!
Meet Me On The Roof - Wow! Such a refreshing sound coming from the boys. Getting great vibes from this. Catchy, fun and the vocals is 10/10, especially the harmonies/back up vocals
I Was A Teenage Teenager - As I've already said in about 400 posts; I love this song. It makes me emotional and is just beautiful. The lyrics are so good. My favourite song on this album BY FAR.
Stab You In The Heart - Pure rock n roll and a bit cliché. A song that hypes you up but probably requires a certain mood to really be appreciated, at least by me.
Sugar Youth - A good use of vocal filters, finally! Another rock n roll song but very Green Day and just a fucking blast. Great song that makes me want to dance!
Junkies On A High - The song I've gotten in to the least so far. I really like the lyrics and it's good, nothing wrong with how it sounds at all. Probably a song I'll eventually love but it doesn't catch my attention right now as I hear it all for the very first time(s).
Take The Money And Crawl - Starts off with filters that gives me a real bad feeling but then seconds later it surprises me completely with how it ABSOLUTELY SLAPS! I love this song, especially the guitars.
Graffitia - Amazing. The piano reminds me of FRA except here it totally works. Billies voice is absolutely angelic and the 'only the lonely and wasted' is a line delivered perfectly. A great mixture of parts who are so delicate and beautiful, then followed by the chorus that SLAPS and is so damn catchy. Definitely one of my favourites and a great ending to the record even though I'm not sure how I feel about it fading out.

I could go on and on but right now I just want to enjoy listening to this on repeat. I wrote this shit without even thinking and haven't proof read it so it probably doesn't even make sense, but I wanted to document my initial thoughts on all of this however unstructured they may be. Overall it's what I wanted from the boys and I'm so happy.

Foxboro Hot Tubs.

Ramones.

Dwight Yoakam.

Green Day+Network.

"Junkies" is my favorite, although I haven't heard the songs after it yet.
