yeah bands use backing tracks, but not good bands. bands like bring me the horizon use backing tracks.

the intro to BOBD and 21 guns doesn’t count. having vocal backing tracks is insanely fucking wack though

Rush used backing tracks

You really think BMTH is not a good band? I mean, you can dislike them, but they definitely are good, it’s just they evolved into a more electronic sound with loads of instruments and stuff. And I think Green Day using backing tracks is fine, it’s not like they are not playing music, it’s just that using tracks you get a more complete sound (like the backing vocals in FRA or the guitar in BOBD)

I don’t think that’s a backing track, I think it is Jason + Jason + Mike singing on the back. If you watch the HD video in the download section it’s more clear.

Someone posted a video earlier on the last page that shows the backing track

I'm watching the FRA video from previous page and I can't see where the backing track is? Maybe I'm just easily fooled but it seems to me like Billie's singing as normally, except he's clearly pissed off, and the oohs are from the Jasons

At 2:18 Billie interrupts the normal chorus and screams something, while there are other voices in the back that keep singing the chorus. Someone is saying that is a backing track, from the HD video to me it looks like the other guys on stage singing in the back.

You can even hear the claps in the very beggining, it has a backing track os all the ooos and aaas

I can only hear a backing track for the claps at the beginning (which could also be an effect from Jason’s keyboard), the ooos and aaaas are Jason and Kevin singing.

Yeah I just got to that part and I can't tell for sure? But it doesn't seem like anything substantial changes when Billie stops singing so it could be a backing track... I'll look at the HD version. I'd say the oohs and aahs are live though. Btw, I like FRA a lot better live, without the loud McClaps all the way through. It's really catchy and with the long coat on, this performance was a lot like a Foxies show.

Not as good quality as the one in the download section, but at 1:52 you can hear the same bit in higher quality, and I think it’s clear it’s just backing vocals from the other guys.

What's your problem with backing tracks, guys? 😪

What bothers you so much?

I don't know, it's interesting from a nerd point of view. But I must admit it'd also a little disappointing if Billie couldn't do stuff live.

I honestly don't have any problem with them and also I think this song is not so easy to perform live anyway cause it's jingly and was made as a short theme song but they handled really well imo

I think we know they can, whether they have a backing track for the clapping I don’t know, but it sounded pretty live to me.

There is absolutely no connection amid not being able to do stuff live and using backing tracks

On one hand playing with sequences it's even harder than playing without them

Not 100% sure but with the presumption of innocence on their side, I'm going to say you're right :P Funny how they cut out the gum spitting

Also Billie avoiding some of those people's high fives? lmao

Well, the point of using the track would be that Billie struggles to do the high notes in his full voice/loud enough, so the connection with not being able to do it live would be there :P

As far as I can see he's not struggling at all he just made a stylistic decision or maybe a healthier one for his cords

That's because he has his track hahaaha

You don't stop struggling because of a live track

If you're out of tune it's gonna be even worst

You're gonna just sound fuller and thicker if you are good enough to carry the pitch

What makes you think Billie can't do anything? The problem would actually be that Billie can't do 87 things at a time.

The Beatles didn't play live for the latter part of their career because they would have needed 90 people on stage with them. Haha.

Basic tracks that are nothing substantive like in FRA don't bother me.

I didn't even say I think that, but to explain the reasoning, the idea was that if he's using backing tracks on songs with loud high notes, it seems logical to assume the reason for using the track is to help him with these.
