I use Spotify too when I’m on the way, but at home I love to take the time to put on a vinyl, it makes music more real and approachable for me, you listen more carefully. That's so true... when you listen (not only but especially) to Against Me!'s early stuff there are so many political songs that have a punch and are quite radical, while early Green Day is just girl songs and when there's something political it's very mild. I don't mean that as criticism, just as an observation. I think those of us who are somewhat disillusioned with Green Day recently have been missing a point the entire time (and that includes me). One of their first songs that has social commentary as a topic is Road To Acceptance, a song about racism, it goes "if you'd stop a while / and maybe if you smiled / you would realize that we're all the same".
