Popular Post Chin for a Day Posted January 5, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2020 I ordered the CD just for the ticket pre-sale. It should make a lovely coaster. 1 1 3 Quote

"And I don't need a coaster!" 😂 Btw, I did the same but I first got the ticket for Milan and it's a festival so tickets don't go sold out in just 1 day I wish I bought first the London/another city abroad first Quote

Popular Post Thatsername Posted January 5, 2020 Popular Post Posted January 5, 2020 I have every GD album on CD and vinyl, so I ordered the FOAM vinyl and I think I will also get the CD later because I love booklets. I use Spotify too when I’m on the way, but at home I love to take the time to put on a vinyl, it makes music more real and approachable for me, you listen more carefully. Plus, I love the thought of supporting a band by buying a physical copy (or copies), streaming can never do that, even if you stream it hundreds of times. 7 1 Quote
GDFan2019 Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Has anyone preordered the FOAM/Oakland Coffee bundle? 1 Quote

Bands make almost as much from cd sales as they do from streams (unless you’re buying from hand to hand from the band member at a show or in person) Quote

How many of you are buying it digitally? How many of you are just streaming it on Spotify? Uncensored vinyl for me 15 hours ago, WhiteTim said: With all the issues the RevRad vinyl had I’m avoiding the FOAM vinyls like the plague Yeah that vinyl is shit. Hoping it was a fluke though and isn’t a problem with FOAM. Quote

(In my opinion) it's perfectly skippable lol 1 Quote

MillenniumFan Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 I feel like I'm the literal definition of sour-grapes for this album cycle lol and fully aware of it, but this will actually be the first Green Day release ever where I don't think I'll bother buying a physical copy of some kind (and that's breaking a very long tradition for me) unless I'm blown away by the rest of the album (which is always possible I guess). 2 Quote
BilIie Joe Armstrong Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 The thing is, FOAM is a fun little song, I'm just not feeling the hype. I don't know what's wrong I have a feeling that if this album was dropped without a big fuss like a Foxboro or Longshot album I'd be slobbering with happiness 3 Quote

Very much possible. Oh Love wasn’t the best single choice for ¡Uno!, but the rest of the album proved to be pretty good. (Don’t mistake that for it not being a good song. Oh Love is great.) 2 Quote
21st_century_gloria Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Funny little bit here: Against Me has a song called "I Was a Teenage Anarchist" According to the tracklist for FOAM, we've got "I Was a Teenage Teenager" Ik that it probably has nothing to do with anything but it's funny to think of it as... "When you were busy being an anarchist, I was just a random teenager!" or a commentary of some sorts with the idea that all teenagers are somewhat anarchic (I guess that one makes sense tho) Quote

That's so true... when you listen (not only but especially) to Against Me!'s early stuff there are so many political songs that have a punch and are quite radical, while early Green Day is just girl songs and when there's something political it's very mild. I don't mean that as criticism, just as an observation. I think those of us who are somewhat disillusioned with Green Day recently have been missing a point the entire time (and that includes me). One of their first songs that has social commentary as a topic is Road To Acceptance, a song about racism, it goes "if you'd stop a while / and maybe if you smiled / you would realize that we're all the same". So yeah Billie's radical youth was telling racists to smile 1 1 Quote

PursuitOfEpicness Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 Physical copies of CDs and Vinyl are the only things i collect so I preordered the uncensored because it was limited edition and plan to get a regular cd. Quote
walking_c0ntradicti0n Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 As far as how I'm getting the album goes, I'm probably taking my first listen online somewhere (and honestly I am diving for the leak if it happens early enough because I'm impatient) My birthday's at the end of the month so I'm assuming my mom's gonna end up getting me the CD then? Little Boy Named Booze Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 FOAM in one month so leak in a couple of days ?? Quote
GDFan2019 Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 I wonder when the next single (Oh Yeah?) is gonna drop Quote
