Hella Mega Tour with Weezer, Fall Out Boy

You know how sometimes late at night you just click at things on your phone? I know this show isn't Hella Mega but I ended up noticing this:

Do you think this is just because the venue don't know Green Day or an indicator of the length of set we might get?

I think it could be the runtime. If they cut down on the heyhos, long songs and kfad, they could still play a reasonable set in 90 minutes. Hopefully it wouldn't mean they only play the hits - a shorter set with more variety could be a good compromise. If this is a choice they made, I don't really have a problem to accept it. Obviously I'd love if they kept playing long shows, but they're human too, so it's understandable if they don't feel like doing it any more.

Yeah (like me!) the guys are getting older and probably can't keep playing those long sets anymore. Most shows on the RevRad Tour were just over two hours whereas it was closer to three hours on the 21CB Tour

Yeah, I won't lie that I'm not a little sad about it, but if they can't do it anymore, they can't. A shorter, high energy set might be the good choice over a bit tired longer one (if that was the alternative). Of course, they're invincible, but I guess we have to respect if they need to take measures to stay that way :P

My dad, after I mentioned last weekend that I spent $217/ticket to see Green Day next year:

"I don't care if they brought the Beatles back from the dead — I wouldn't pay that much for a ticket to ANYTHING!"

Your dad is right

Or, y’know, it could just be that their time is cut shorter because of this stupid tour.

Or they're doing this shitty tour to cover up the fact that they're cutting off an hour from their set either way... what was first the chicken or the egg?

We’ll find out that answer eventually.

If the sets are gonna be shorter from now on because they don't want to play long shows, tickets need to be cheaper. Personally I'd be pissed of I paid a hefty amount for a show and the band's set was short.

I highly doubt that they’ll cut their set short. These guys breathe their live shows.

hmm reminds me at Soundwave they told promoters they wanted a 3 hour set & 3 times I was backstage & the guys said its a 2 1/2 hour set tonight😖

Doors are 6 hours before official venue curfew times (in the areas they have curfews). So,  the math is pretty easy from there.

Interrupters-quickest case, half hour after doors and set for 45: that leaves 4:45 left

Fallout boy- gear change 30 mins, set 1 hour, there’s 3:15 left

weezer- gear change 30 mins, set 1 hour, there’s 1:45 left

Green Day- gear change 30 mins, 1:15 left. But of course if there’s no curfew they could go longer. No way though are we seeing 21st Century Breakdown or even standard set times. I’m cool with it, I’ve been lucky enough to have my share of epic shows, but just to manage expectations I am fully expecting a shorter festival- type set.

Edit- I flipped the fallout/ Weezer expected order by accident, it seems Weezer will play before fallout.

I'm honestly very curious about whether or not they play a longer set at the shows they're playing on their own or at festivals where headliners are supposed to play their standard show.

Agreed. Like people have said, they may have a slightly shorter run time because of co-headlining, but otherwise, I think their sets will get longer over time. 😴

Seriously I think The Interrupters will be better then Weezer and FOB. Those guys are just amazing during live performance and their songs are so good.
My top bands when I'll see them in August will definitively be
1- Green Day
2- The Interrupters
3- Weezer
4- Fall Out Boy

I think the same. Sadly, no Interrupters in Europe 😭

I don't hate it, but if they're cutting down then it's the obvious no. 1 candidate. I'd rather see KFAD go then miss out on 3 songs they could play instead.

Yep, I wish they play something from the old albums more often. In Italy in 2013 they played Going To Pasalaqua / Waiting / Nice Guys Finish Last
In Swizterland 2013 + Italy 2017 they played  2000 Light Years Away but i would like more songs and more often? 😂
And even from RevRad, I would like to listen to Bouncing Out The Wall for exemple

Their sets will only get shorter, I think, just because they're getting older. Makes sense for Hella Mega sets to be shorter anyway, but I'm intrigued to know how long the solo shows will be this time around. I don't mind whether King for a Day stays or not. I'm sure it'll be one of the last songs to go, though

So when they're in their 80's the entire show will be just KFAD? I would come to this show

Nope.  One of my favorite parts of the show.  I never want it to leave.

I'd much rather they get rid of JOS and add in 2-3 songs there instead.

Yeah me too. That show that I posted is one of the headlining shows in Asia! (I’m not going to it but I just noticed the set time.)
