Hella Mega Tour with Weezer, Fall Out Boy

Let's get back on topic.... I feel blessed that in Sweden it's a Green Day only show. Something that worries me though is Billie in an interview saying they want to 'tour effectively' ie do stadiums. It makes me paranoid they won't come back here on the next leg of the tour like they did during 21CB and RevRad, and instead decide the one stadium show is enough and it's time to stay home, sit around and get fat. My guess is they'll come back and do more shows as usual but WHAT IF. I guess I'm a Greedy CuntTM and want more before tour has even started.

I feel blessed that the Czech show is a festival so I can pretend Hella Mega doesn't exist...I didn't realize what he meant by "effective touring" :ermm:, if HM is an indication of what they want their future tours to look like, I'd better enjoy my show, because it may be my last until they come back to their senses. :P It seems likely that there'll be another leg though, because this would be their shortest tour in years.

I'm worried about the same thing in Chicago. I really hope they don't think well we played Wrigley so that's enough! Or even worse they do a fucking festival like Lolla.

Not sure what he meant either, he just said effective touring and my guess was it has to do with doing fewer but bigger shows. Hopefully either my interpretation is wrong which is very likely, or it was just yet another BS statement from Billie which is even more likely. Either way I expect them to come back but as always with Green Day I'm 1 paranoid anxious greedy boi.

Your explanation makes sense. Fewer bigger shows is good for the band (less work/possibly more cash) but exactly the opposite of what we'd like as fans (affordable shows not far from us). It could be just another bullshit statement but from what we've seen so far, they're done fucking around and it's money makin' time babey, so I wouldn't be surprised if they just threw some more yuuuge dates at us next year and we'll begrudgingly go, because it's still better than nothing.

Billie’s statements basically feel like Dookie era wisecracks, but they don’t sound sarcastic.

He's become what he was making fun of back in the day.

After hearing Rivers Cuomo live, I really wish my show was GD only.

I'm really excited for the Hella Mega. I'm sure it will be a memorable night.

I mean a like these 3 bands so I guess I'm just lucky.

I like Weezer but lost my excitement when I heard them at Whiskey A Go Go

Well I can understand why you would be jealous of me, but I wasnt there. Lithium recorded the shows and played them all last weekend

I assumed that by effective touring he meant they would do shorter legs, with maybe more rest days. And that they would try to do larger venues to compensate for the fewer dates. I don't see it as them wanting to make money, more that they're trying to make their physical condition last as long as possible.

Yeah, I get that. It's the Rolling Stones type of touring.

I don't see the problem.......... :ga:

But yeah, same. I'm super happy that I get to see a full GD only show, yet somewhat wiggered by having to travel just in case. :runaround:  (although to be fair the situation in Norway is kind of unique, if I lived in the middle of nowhere on the west coast I'd simply feel blessed af)

Rivers generally sounds very good live and Weezer puts on a terrific rock show so I wouldn’t  t write them off for one performance.

Yea I've seen them before and thought they were great. Much different then Green Day as they come out and just play their songs without much fanfare in between.  But they have a ton of hits and sounded really great.  I've wanted to see Fall Out Boy, but not enough to go to one of their headlining shows so this tour is perfect for me.
