Based on what? Covid in Europe is pretty much over in terms of restrictions. The tour will definitely happen.

Based on my opinion?
Oh and this ""Covid Italy, today's news. After 5 weeks cases are increasing: "Maybe it's start of a new wave"
We still have the covid pass even for go to a cafè to buy a bottle of water

ukraine wont be a problem for the tour unless ww3 starts ...

i dont know how other european countries decide about festivals/shows during the omicron wave, but i think everyone is ok with festivals etc taking place. germany is still in talks how we will manage the spring/summer months, next week on thursday our politicians will meet again and discuss their plan

It seems very strange to me
We definitely can't go from asking for covid certification even in clothing stores to "Okay, huge concerts are happening. Let's meet  thousand people at first row"

We currently have 0 restrictions on events (or anything basically) and the only remaining mandate is wearing a mask on public transport and in stores. That’s getting abolished by April. Are cases going to rise and people going to die? Yes, that’s a sacrifice our government apparently is willing to make.

Same here. But we need to live with the virus that's all. I really don't care. It's time!

There's no restrictions here anymore. From this thread, I understand that there's regulations in Italy and Germany still. Not sure what's the regulations are in other European countries.

Not what the thread is about but it hasn't affected much in England since things have been eased

Well seems the guys are expecting to play Rock am Ring as they've just posted this to Facebook

here in germany it all depends on what laws we will have for the pandemic

our politicians have a new discussion round next thursday, then they will talk and decide about the laws we will have in germany, the current pandemic-laws are effective until ~19th march

they promise stuff and talk about events etc, but it can and did always change in the past, so atm no one really knows how we will move on in germany (thats why many musicians, even german acts, cancel or delay their tours, even shows in May get already cancelled or moved, and GD have their shows in early june)

Germany always had at least 150x more strict restictions than everywhere else. Or so it seemed to me whenever I visited in recent years.

The mask mandate is ending here on the 21st and I'm not happy about it. 😒  I think it's too soon. There are cases increasing again, but GD has already played here so it's up to you, Europe!

On March 31 the state of emergency ends, here in Italy and, as I had read, would end the restrictions on masks indoors.
Now I read that minister of health (his surname is Speranza that means hope ahahaha yeah, we need it) said "Eh but Covid doesn't end on March 31" You don't say! *insert meme here* "We need to keep using mask indoors".

I don't know how this will end

Quite possibly. This is what they posted and deleted. I obviously forgot I'd taken a screenshot

Don't go to the gig then? It's not going to end, not trying to downplay anything but with the vaccine fully rolled out we can either lockdown forever or crack on.

Masks and COVID precautions are appropriate when surges are starting to occur and are occurring. If we have them all the time, people get burned out and compliance during surges decreases. We have to be smart about how we do this and have a standard plan for surge periods, such as masks/free tests/treatment with the antiviral pill. And of course encouraging vaccines year-round. This virus isn't ever going away. If we try to enact strict measures while the cases are very low, like now, I guarantee people will revolt and we'll have less compliance when we really need it. Not saying wearing a mask isn't a nice thing to do, it is, but mandating it right now would really backfire.

Wearing a mask isn't locking down. It's just being considerate to others by helping to further minimise the spread, and doesn't prevent anyone doing anything.

But once you’re back to the point of having mass events like gigs kinda lose a lot of their effectiveness. The UK’s numbers aren’t too bad since removing restrictions and the same can be said elsewhere.

Just saying it doesn't mean it's pointless. It's not a choice between lockdown and don't take any sensible precautions at all.

Sounds like your minister of health has got his head screwed on right. It's the truth! COVID won't end just because the mandate has and there could be a resurgence of cases as well as new variants. It's not an endemic virus yet. Lifting mandates could end up fucking up everything we're looking forward to again. I really want to see Green Day play, even if I can't be there. I always love all the photos and videos and it's great to experience that second hand. If COVID blows up again because people keep jumping the gun, we may not get that.

Honestly, wearing a mask has almost become a kind of security blanket for me. I feel safe when I'm wearing it, I don't have to worry about how my face looks, I can make any expression I want and no one will see it, it keeps my face warm in cold weather... it's great. I'm going to keep wearing one even when the mandate ends and I hope others continue to as well.

I feel this! We had our mask mandate lifted too and while I've been wearing it less, I still put it on especially on public transit. But I do like how it covers my face so no one sees if I'm having a bad breakout or reacting to something. Though sometimes I still react to something random and forget I don't have the mask to protect me! 😂

L7 just cancelled their upcoming European & UK tour due covid and travel logistic related issue. They were supposed to be playing around Europe in June. I still hope for the Hella Mega Tour to happen (and the many other concerts that should take place in Europe)
