Hey I have an idea, they should get The Network to come out and fill in! Now where did those guys go? 🤔

Do you think they’d help out their mortal enemies? :woot: That would be legendary.

Sorry to post one of my awful takes again, but I just had this idea that at least when it comes to this tour, Green Day acts like one of those companies whose product you buy and instead of being loyal because you’re satisfied with the product, you’re loyal because you’re trapped. It’s like when you buy an iphone and then your cord breaks in a few months so you shell out more money to them, then your battery gives in in a year and you have no choice and then oh no the earphones and it’s hard to avoid buying more stuff from the company because things from other manufacturers aren’t compatible or you lose your warranty or your original purchase becomes a loss if you give up and buy another phone.

I think it’s similar with Green Day these days because it’s not like you can just go and see another band and be satisfied, but it also doesn’t seem to me that a lot of people are actually enthusiastic to “get” the product. I mean, people are signing up for a club membership to a company unrelated to the band (other than that they own it), how exciting that is, genuinely? With the tour, you get a mix of bands which is ok or not ok depending on your taste and apparently you don’t get a refund if something fails so yeah, I mean, I wouldn’t be into this if I wasn’t already stuck with Green Day.

Think it’s worth wondering how many Covid cases this tour has caused so far across the US. If one has been confirmed in FOB’s team within the first week of the tour, then God knows how many ticket holders have caught Covid so far.

They really should have done the sensible thing and postponed this shitty cash-grab scheme til next year. It’s so disappointing that my favourite band seemingly doesn’t care that they’re continuing to put their fans at risk.

Besides the big festivals like Lolla... what are some other bands doing similar sized concerts?

The show today was supposed to be my show, but I sold the tickets. I just don't feel comfortable being in that big of a crowd yet.

I was feeling kind of bummed about it, and questioned my choice. But, now I'm not so upset. I'm not  FOB fan, but I did pay money to see them.

Just a quick google search and here are a few:

ZZ Top - playing amphitheater outside of Kansas City

Foo Fighters - playing amphitheater outside of Kansas City

Garth Brooks - playing Arrowhead in KC & Memorial stadium in Lincoln, NE*

Guns N Roses - playing Las Vegas in the next 10 days

Def Leppard - playing Kaufman Stadium (KC Royals stadium)

Machine Gun Kelly - playing same amphitheater as ZZ top & Foo

*The memorial stadium for Garth Brooks is sold out 94,000 seats

I saw somewhere on Reddit that during Monumentour (paramore and FOB headliner) that when Paramore couldn’t play, FOB had a longer set and if you called Ticketmaster, they gave partial credit to be used for a future show.

With as big of a production that Hella Mega is… I don’t see any bands adding extra songs. Everything is already rehearsed and scheduled down to the minute so adding in something would be very difficult.

I hope that Ticketmaster at least does something for these ticket holders but it’s Ticketmaster… the same company that will charge you upwards of 15% in service fees and mark up seats and sell them as “platinum” at insane prices so don’t expect much.

I don't know what makes y'all think next year is going to be any better... we said "next year" last year too. We have more vaccines than we know what to do with in the U.S. but people like Mike's wife don't "believe" in them and that's not going to change. This surge isn't because of breakthrough cases. This surge is because of unvaccinated people and the data supports that.

https://www.vox.com/22602039/breakthrough-cases-covid-19-delta-variant-masks-vaccines

As crass as it sounds, we will eventually have to just give up and stop caring. The only exception right now is kids — I feel terrible for children who have no say in the matter because of their crazy parents or aren't yet eligible for vaccines. And the few people who can't get them legitimately for health reasons. But I have no sympathy for anti-vaxxers and it's not my job to protect them. I'm so fucking tired of this shit.

I think most of this is spot on. It's going to eventually have to be an "Oh well" attitude. Just like the flu, if you choose to not get a vaccine, it's your risk. No more canceling everything and closing down. Do I want someone with COVID around me? No. But I know I'm protected just like the flu shot protects when around people with the flu. Sadly, the unvaccinated are largely the poor and uneducated demographic, so it's also a failure on the part of our whole country.

Everyone is tired. Like you said we will eventually have to just give up and stop caring. That's where I'm at and that's where a lot of people are. Not because I'm selfish ( I have my 2 shots) but because we can't stay indoor all our life. Protect youself and then go on with your social life. I don't care giving the Covid to an anti vaxx. It's their prob.

What sucks is it will unfortunately impact the vaccinated if they have other health issues and hospitals are overrun with dying anti-vaxxers. At the moment in Ohio, that’s not a concern, based on the data, but I’m sure it could be.

Yup and they lack self-awareness enough to change their minds. I know a handful of people who got COVID, some who nearly died, and they still call it a hoax. No helping these people.

You all must ask for a partial refund. Live Nation (and the bands) probably hired an insurance for cases like this and they won't loose a cent (They aren't idiots) . It's fair that you claim your part.

It's one thing to not want to bend over for anti vaxxers but I don't think we should give up before children can get vaccinated. The main reason I worry about getting it, and why I'm considering wearing a mask to tomorrow's show, is because my husband works in childcare and those kids can't be vaccinated. I'd hate for us to spread it to them.

Otherwise I feel like this could totally be a lawsuit. People have sued for pettier things.

But yeah, at this point I don’t think rescheduling or postponing the entire tour is really feasible. Just get it over with, refund people when things get messed up, like these shows, and just move on until things are “normal” again like 20 years from now when we’re all old.

Sadly this is already the case in other places :/. I’ve seen where hospitals are canceling any surgeries that require an overnight stay because they are too full with COVID patients.

Yeah because there are millions of people who have autoimmune diseases who don't respond as well to the vaccine (not all of them old people by any means). They've already been prisoners in their own homes for 18 months but it will be a while until they can go about life as normal

I think we are all just beyond frustrated at this point. Most people did everything right and had lives and livelihoods shattered to try to stop this pandemic, and now they are being told, "Sorry, you still can't try to rebuild your life because now you have to protect Joe Fuckface down the street who won't get a vaccine. And oh by the way, Joe Fuckface is now spreading around mutant strains so he'll probably get you sick now anyway even though you are vaccinated."

This thread is becoming the COVID thread, sorry to be a backseat mod, but please take COVID chat there, some of us are trying to avoid it.

I just got an email from Ticketmaster that you can request a refund for Citifield since FOB is not performing

Ticketmaster does the right thing? I am shocked. Very happy those that were only going to FOB can get their refunds.
