Despite my comments on here I honestly don’t want to shit on the band at every opportunity, I just genuinely think they know FOAM isn’t their best work, they know that outside of this forum it was received poorly and that they’re playing to casual fans. They have 90 minutes, I imagine they’d rather play 21 Guns with a full band and get a great reception rather than play something nobody aside from the people at the barrier really wants to hear.

It's not even greatest hits; it's Dookie and AI. The idea that casual fans would lose interest if they put in a deep cut is silly. It's a concert. People won't leave if they throw in Sugar Youth or Scattered.

This whole Hella Mega tour could turn out to be a really astute move if they manage to introduce a whole load of really casual GD fans who are there for Weezer and FoB to their music.  If they were to tour again with a new album in the near future they could get bigger crowds again, who know.

I’d be really disappointed if they keep the same setlist for their solo shows…

No Letterbomb or kfad?? Are u kidding me? Billie’s rant  in the middle of letterbomb and the whole thing they did with kfad is what makes Green Day shows an experience! These things elevated their concerts to a whole other level as opposed to a band just playing their songs. 
 

The structure of the current setlist is weird too. I think playing AI at the encore was a much better choice. Nothing against a Kiss cover though. 
 

I’d also kill for Are We Waiting and some deep cuts. 
 

But well, I guess they had to somehow fit in the 90 minutes.. Hope their solo shows don’t disappoint, since i haven’t seen them in almost 10 years..

A setlist with full-band performances of 21 Guns + WMUWSE and Still Breathing is all I'd ask for. Hoping they'll keep these for the entire tour.

I understand the frustration for the lack of deep cuts but I think this is the best setlist they could come up with given the context of this tour. I'd obviously scrap that cover though.

I’m curious how many new fans this tour will convert. People might not realize how many hits and great songs they have until they see this show. This is a good way to experience GD for the first time. A club set where you don’t know half the songs would be alienating. And keeping Knowledge is a good move since it’s one of their special things to let a fan play the song and give them the guitar. You can’t not fall in love with a band that does that. No other band brought fans onstage that night.

They were never gunna play deep cuts on a tour like this and anyone who is complaining about the fact they aren't is delusional. This was always going to be like this and to be honest, I think they've got a great set. It's open to a few switches as the tour goes on, I'm just a bit surprised that there's nothing from Father of All on there at all.

I have lost all hope of getting caught up with this thread LOL. I was trying to find the setlist in the thread in the touring forum, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, it sounds like a pretty good show, and I can't wait to watch the video clips people have posted.

This idea worked really well for Def Leppard after they toured with Kiss in 2014

Didn’t know that.  We’ve been hearing for years how rock shows/fan numbers are getting smaller yet there are always changes, I think this would be a great set list if you were really a fan of one of the other bands, guess we just have to wait and see.

I won't be going to shows until they come to Europe, but it's still exciting to see what songs they pick for a 90 minute set. 

I like that the opening song is American idiot. Glad they skipped King for a day, since it takes up so much time. I had prefered that they would have chosen something other than Brain stew, St. Jimmy and Hitchin' a ride though. They always play those songs.

I gotta say, it does seem like a pretty good set. Yes a few deeper cuts would have been nice, but they definitely mixed in some that weren't huge hits. And of course the hits are hits for a reason so of course they had to play those. Looks like they packed a lot into 90 minutes. The KISS cover is an interesting choice since KISS isn't really their style LOL. You think they would have pulled out a Ramones cover or something like that or just gone with another of their own songs. 

Anyway, I am sad about no KFAD. Does anyone know if Billie jerked off during Hitchin' a Ride LOL? Did he form an onstage band for Knowledge?

I don't know. Rock seems to be having a resurgence in the past year or so. And being at a show with Weezer and FOB fans may broaden their base as you have suggested.

Not playing anything from FOAM is certainly strange, and I think some FOAM songs would be great live. Maybe this goes to show what some suspected that they were never that serious about that album and that it was just put out to satisfy/troll Warner.

I struggle to believe any band would put out a troll album and I would love to see  them play FOAM songs, this just isn’t the tour.

Maybe not a troll album per se, but I think it was just something put together because Warner was pressuring them for more music, and they likely don't consider it their best work. Kinda the way Billie has looked back on the Trilogy and been very critical of it. We know he is very much a perfectionist and probably doesn't want to play things he doesn't feel are his best work. That's probably why they didn't play Trilogy songs either.

I'd argue there's already a lot of crossover between Green Day and Weezer fans. Fall Out Boy's base seems to be much younger though so I think this is a good point.
