Popular Post Mar
I just don't understand how this is going to work in the U.S. unless things REALLY rapidly change/get better. I know it's still four months off, but yesterday, the only change from the CDC was that vaccinated people don't have to wear their masks outside in a small group of other vaccinated people. It's going to be really fun being in a pit with a mask on a summer day mingling with people who may not be vaccinated. Are we just going to have to deal with security being the mask police the whole show? That doesn't sound like a good time. And seating won't be much better, either, especially because most of the tickets probably sold before covid and everyone will be seated together. That's how venues sell tickets. I couldn't afford a ticket in 2019 and barely can now. Will anyone buy new tickets, anyway, especially at the 2019 prices? How many refunds will they give? Is it even worth the money they will make (or, rather, is this about not losing as much money as they would if they canceled)? The show I'd attend is in Michigan, which is still a covid hotspot. I'm fully vaccinated, but is it worth going and risking catching a variant the vaccine may not protect against? I can't be the only one asking themselves these questions, and if there's that much stress involved in going to a supposedly fun event, it may not be time for that event just yet. Things are getting better in America, but is it still too much too soon? 13

We're likely going to be in some sort of lockdown all summer. Agreed. Curious if they’ll reschedule Toronto or if they’ll just outright cancel since they’re planning to go ahead with the US this summer. We’ll see.
lucky_stars
I'm really not sure what to make of this. I never bought HellaMega tickets because way back then, I wasn't sure if I could attend any of the dates... now I know I'm available for the August 5 date in Boston but the prices on StubHub are just wild. And there's no information about capacity or what will happen for current ticket holders.

Popular Post W Axl Rose
They may be planning to go ahead but other than Florida,Texas etc no States will be at full capacity for stadiums in three months. It's not gonna happen. I get we all wanna see them but there's too many unknowns. Green Day and their Management know this. Will they be offering rapid testing? Requiring proof of Vax? All these things cost extra money. No reason whatsoever to not push it til next Summer.

Beerjeezus
Czech festival rescheduled to June 18 2022. All three bands are confirmed for the day and the day before so it seems clear that they're postponing hella mega Europe.

This tour won't even be relevant in 2022 unless all 3 artists are going to have new music on the way? None of them are really currently "hot" bands, they're all in the legacy acts zone. I don't think them having a brand new album out or not makes a big difference to their appeal as live acts.
Beerjeezus
For real, no one except for us cared about FOAM anyway. It got a very mixed response and none of the singles were hits

Yep and in theory the gigs are sold out so shouldn't matter anyway, but they would normally still need music out to sell out these stadiums, that's why they're touring together lol instead of doing stadiums individually. Either way, it should be fine, just at this point seems like they might as well just call it and try it again next time around.
JellyTime
So now they have six days gap between Berlin and Copenhagen and I hope they'll announce at least one more show.

At least the tickets probably cost slightly less than they would have buying them two years later and no need to stress getting them again haha.
Beerjeezus
Plus the idea behind the project is to make money and any time is good for that. It's not like threre's an artistic intent that had to do with the album coming out.

Yep I wasn't moaning about the tour, but as you say it's about money and if you're promoting an album as well as wheeling out some "legends" it's easier to make money. Anyway, fair play to anyone that eventually makes it to one of these gigs, you'll have earnt it.

Of course, in ideal conditions, there would be a new album so that they can at least try to pretend they're not just cashing in on the fact that people are willing to endure two other bands to see them (and vice versa depending on your choice of band you want to see). But they already sold tickets so I guess the next step is profit. I still hope an asteroid hits Earth in time for this tour to get cancelled.
Beathe.
They changed the order some of the dates originally were in and messed up my travel plan. That will make it more expensive than I had planned for. They cancelled the Helsinki show, but I don't think that will make much of a difference. The date for the show in Norway is also at the same date as I was suppose to see another band. 🙈

Instead of a week apart, my two shows were on consecutive nights and required travel between cities and now I can’t make both. Another reason I hope they just move them again. Fingers crossed it works out for you. 🤞 Because of the changes I'll have to take three trips, instead of two that I originally had planned. I'll make it to the shows somehow, but it wasn't what I needed right now.

MillenniumFan
Man they really should have been at Reading, since that currently seems like it's the only major festival in Europe (that I'm aware of) which has even the tiniest chance of actually going ahead. Still, even then it's not clear any foreign acts would fly to Britain/Europe just for one festival.
