It’s all the more disappointing, because it seemed like they were on the right track with revrad and FOAM actually has a vibe that would go well with a bit of nostalgia for the classic rock’n’roll era, but instead of coming up with a cool aesthetic, they did the “pure uncut rock” thing??? Billie with weird fake sideburns??? (I honestly think we deserve reparations from Crush’s marketing for having to witness all of that.) And the tour itself is pretty much cashing in on 2000s nostalgia so... I don’t know? This was such a weird mix of desperately trying to look cool, while simultaneously moving closer to becoming a legacy act.

It could've been worse. We could've gotten GD, Weezer, and P!ATD. I would consider HM if it was PATD instead of FOB. Yeah, I blame Crush for all the poor FOAM decisions. Some of them are just fucking baffling. I think the thing that still bothers me is how week of release was JAM PACKED with interviews and random performances......and then silence. And this was before COVID hit.

I beg to differ. They seemed to be embracing their boomer status. I don't even think they were trying to be cool. They did every show looking like Liberace threw up on them and sounding like every pop song on the radio. I think they were going for washed up, out of touch rock star. I'd like to believe that there's no way they'd do that unironcally. And they chose to tour with Weezer and FOB, so...

What would they gain by doing all of that ironically? It would make sense if they went over the top and it was clear that they’re taking the piss, but this looked a lot more like a (possibly) half-hearted failed attempt to look cool. I think their target audience was clear; they had the kid from Stranger Things in the MMOTR video. Exhibit B is just Graffita in general (that song sounds like fucking Kidz Bop). They're rich guys they don't need an album to sell a million copies, and they've been with Warner for so long that the risk of being dropped is slim. They can do whatever they want, and so they did. Maybe they had a quota to fulfill or something.

Alright, but you know, it’s just fucking dumb to target 12-year-olds with eDgY allusions to coke (for some fucking reason djfkfkel) when everyone can see you’re a boomer with lots of orange makeup. As you say, they are rich men who don’t need to sell a million copies, so why not take advantage of that and do something of substance instead of embarrassing yourself. Cunt
The style of music has nothing to do with targeting anyone. It’s just the fact that Butch Walker is a shitty producer.

This album has all the same bells and whistles of every Butch Walker produced album and every one of them are shit. There’s a reason that whenever he tries to produce a more rock oriented band the album gets slammed. Maybe I should rephrase that he’s a great pop music producer but a shitty rock music producer.

It’s like RevRad lost it’s goddamn mind and FOAMF was born. RevRad was for the teens (as are all GD albums), and FOAMF is for the “edgy” preteens. The album is for the children. Literally no self respecting, mature adult can sit through that bubblegum and rainbows pop bullshit (with dark undertones, but the children don’t know that). Mans are we gonna first that they got TikTok to promote Hella Mega? I rest my case.

I didn't realize that a 30-something was no longer considered a mature adult because of album they like... That's fine if you don't like it and I respect that you don't, but don't insult those that do.

Any child that listen a to Green Day, yes. You’re acting like children don’t know what a dick is. Any child that knows what a dick is can handle hearing someone saying cock (if they even know that the words are synonymous).
