Every country has a different approach to this so until every country has decided officially that the shows are not going ahead then there would be a more concrete update on the rescheduling

Seems like they've been forced into making some sort of announcement, even though the information isn't ready. I guess the pressure from fans etc has pushed them into saying something, even if that something isn't much Pretty much. Just their way of saying that people shouldn’t get their hopes up, but expect a postponement

It is too vague. This should not go on in any country. That’s for each individual country to decide. If you are in that situation then try to get news from that country directly. The situation changes from day to day so it’s very difficult for anyone to give concrete information on this, because what is true today may not be true tomorrow. I agree completely with your last line though, none of these shows should go ahead.

pacejunkie punk
They’re probably rescheduling them in order of the countries that order lockdowns past the show’s date or ban them altogether, taking each one as it happens until there will likely be too few left if any to go ahead with. RedundantIdiot
I can see that all of the European dates have been postponed: The Hella Mega website has the gigs from 13-21 June listed as postponed https://hellamegatour.com/ Ticketmaster UK has the UK & Ireland dates listed as postponed https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/search?aid=768353&user_input=green day&q=Green+Day&tm_link=tm_header_search

JellyTime
This announcement is like "how to say something without really saying anything" Well, from my point of view it sucks that the tour is postponed. I have tickets for 9 shows, but no idea if I'll be able to attend all of them next year Refund should be an option... 1

Lindsay
Imo the wording on that announcement is awful. It is very clear that none of the European shows will be able to take place so only saying "a number of" shows are being cancelled is just... weird. I get that they're trying to remain optimistic, but we need some realism here. People want answers.
jumpsalty
I think the ‘a number of’ comment isn’t to get anyone’s hopes up, but because some shows will be cancelled and some will be postponed?

HAPPY ZOMBIE UNICORN
I think that, probably for contractual/insurance reasons, they can officially announce the cancellation/postponement of a show only when the local promoter cancel it/there is a clear indication from the country’s government. That’s why the shows in Italy, which clearly will not happen, are not cancelled yet. The government still have to give an official indication about large events in the upcoming months (it’s probably a matter of hours/days), thus the promoters/festivals are not cancelling yet, thus the bands can’t announce it, thus they have to use that wording.
Beerjeezus
I wonder if anyone gets their money from the insurance. The local promoters claim their insurance doesn't cover it.
Seanz25
Just a heads up, people shouldn't expect an option to claim money back until a new date is announced/gig is entirely cancelled. Also TM have been a nightmare to deal with for money back/postponed gigs not related to Hella Mega. They where even asking for a financial jail out at one point. It could get a bit ugly.

I know this is a situation never happened before but I get really stressed thinking about all of this.

pacejunkie punk
If the rescheduled dates end up in jeopardy again next year because we still don’t have a vaccine or there’s a second wave or whatever, I wonder if they might consider just filming it and releasing it that way or something. They can’t keep postponing indefinitely.

I will be spewing if it gets cancelled. I love all three bands and saved up for such a long time so I could go with my brother.
