Popular Post Lindsay
Before I was hoping they'd just reschedule to next year, but now that I'm laid off work I'm selfishly hoping they'll just outright cancel so I can get my money back... $245 is quite a bit of money I could do with right now. As someone said, even next year for this could be iffy now. As much as I'd also like to see Weezer and FOB (yes, I am one of those people), at this point I'd rather just have them cancel and maybe do a smaller club tour, should it be allowed in 2021. Just give us answers, dammit.
killjoywhatsername
Like other have said, I’m guessing they are trying to reschedule everything otherwise I don’t understand why they haven’t at least said anything about Europe. I truly don’t see large events happening this year.

purplebenny
Irish promoter should have Information either by 12 today, or by this day next week Further to the Government’s announcement to ban until 31st August 2020 all events over 5,000 capacity that require a licence, MCD Productions is in the process of rescheduling all of the shows affected by same. We will issue a daily update at 12 noon regarding rescheduled shows for which existing tickets will remain valid. Regrettably, it will not be possible to reschedule all of the affected events and a small number will be cancelled with full refunds available. We expect to finalise a full schedule by next Tuesday 28th April 2020" https://mcd.ie/rescheduled-events/
Beerjeezus
The government announced that they’ll decide about big shows/festivals this week... jfc, I just want it to be over with. It’s clear what the decision will be and even if it wasn’t, how many bands are going to come when the rest of their tours got canceled? purplebenny
I know it’s a very difficult tour logistically time organise and it must be even harder to re-arrange, but some statement from the tour itself, even just acknowledging it’s ‘a tough time and dates are being assessed’ wouldn’t go a miss. this radio silence is baffling
Alan86
2021 will be the earliest for any tour.

That Dude
Still no information at all about Van Weezer. No singles. No tracklist.... ...I will refrain. I don't make Weezer tracklists anyway. But is this album going to be dead on arrival? I don't understand why they couldn't promote it every way possible other than shows. I know it is where the money is, but promotion can only help. According to Wikapedia (so who knows how reliable this is) Rivers said in a Zoom call last week that the release of Van Weezer is postponed indefinitely. I liked "End of the Game" was looking forward to the rest of that album 1

Supposedly there's another single coming before the end of the month.

Bands would rather release and promote music properly when this is over. Foo Fighters were meant to have an album, or at least a single, out by now according to their management. Its been postponed.

Most people can't go to shows all the time anyway so some new music would be nice. Damn. Guess I'll keep searching older albums and seeing what I discover. Not necessarily, The Strokes still released their album. I think a lot of bands that had big things planned for the release of stuff, be that gigs or something else, it'll be worth the wait. I know it will for Foos anyway
Q-Man
I have lost a bit of respect for a lot of artists postponing album releases right now. I understand they want to tour them but they can do that afterwards. Nobody was going to lose interest in Lady Gaga, Weezer, or Lamb Of God. Another excuse I have heard is that the manufacturing companies weren't able to produce enough of the physical copies in time. But they can still release digitally on the original release date. Asking Alexandria is doing this with their new album, physical copies shipped when they are ready. Postponing just feels like a cash grab, especially in a time where people could use music the most. The biggest offender to me was the Grey Daze album that was supposed to be released being pushed back. Anyway, with that rant out of the way, I'm still trying to hold out the tiniest sliver of hope for at least the August dates (even though I highly doubt it'll happen).

The Offspring are never going to make another record. Green Day probably are. I don't know . I need to head over to the drinking thread I guess. I'm having one of those nights. When I really need to feel better, I put on music, have a drink or 15 and play guitar. Tonight, I'm listening to my all time favorite tunes and also listening to things I haven't listened to yet. Music is nice.

Beerjeezus
So I got info about my ticket: Rock For People festival is getting moved to 2021 as expected, but to my surprise it says nothing about the now hella small tour, except for “we’ll try to keep the same line-up”. Will depend on the tour as a whole, I think it'll be very difficult to reorganise a tour of this size into a schedule that suits all 3 bands.
