Anyone in the business have perspective on this? Some of the shows in Europe sold out quickly though, so I guess the guy is talking about the US leg? Prices in Europe were quite reasonable, but they were crazy in the US, weren't they? So I guess, yes, they overestimated their fan's bank accounts 😛 Sadly, I'm not really surprised. They can't expect their fans to be over-excited when the band itself shows a clear lack of enthusiasm for the new album and tour 🤷♀️
alienlifeform
I guess that if the new album be good enough it will increase the sales... Or maybe if they announce they'll be playing Dookie in full the whole tour will help too
Popular Post pacejunkie punk
Plus this is a band that has always kept ticket prices artificially low. So the sudden jump in prices had to have put a lot of fans off who were used to paying a fraction to see them before.
HAPPY ZOMBIE UNICORN
Now I am not an expert, but looking at the seat maps the situation doesn’t look that bad also in the US, maybe expect a couple of venues. Especially since there’s 7 months from the US tour.
Little Boy Named Booze
The tickets price for Green Day is normally low because it's only Green Day. Now you've added FoB AND Weezer + The Interrupters. If you thought the ticket was going to cost below $100 you're living in a crazy world. I paid mine $125 CAD and I'm in GA in the pit. Can't wait for this tour.
Billie Joes Eyelids
I get the ticket prices, I really do. My question is just whether there are truly concerns about ticket sales or if it’s too early for that.

I don’t want to see that happen. Maybe it’s just early though. I really don’t know, which is why I’m asking. It still might be early. I don't know... 52 minutes ago, Flashback said: I don‘t think that this would be good for Green Days career and rock music in general in the future I see that it would be bad for their public image and I wouldn't be happy about that. Squashie
Aren’t 3 of the US stadiums considered sold out? Wrigley, Boston and (I can’t remember the 3rd)

Can't wait for this tour. This is where they took a risk - either you want to see the other bands too and then you don't mind paying well over $100 or you don't want to and then you stay home for exactly $0. The question is how many people chose the other option When you're a less of a die hard fan than most of us, it's not that much of a problem to wait for a GD only tour. 1 minute ago, HAPPY ROOTING UNICORN said: The flaw is that the club tour would be US only See, that's because my purpose in life is to suffer
Popular Post blueshadows
I have mixed feelings about the tour, I don't mind seeing FOB and Weezer, i feel like I would mostly enjoy their set. But if i could choose, I'd rather not see them if it means GD will play a longer set. I also obviously prefer to pay less than these prices. Bought tickets to one show and that for sure does hurt the wallet, but no one is forcing me to buy them, I can also choose to skip tour but I rather save on other things than miss seeing GD. at the same time, the tour is giving GD a chance to gain new fans from other fanbases that like the same kind of music. The tour is getting quite some buzz in the news and a tour like this is a great thing for rock music. So I really hope that people buy tickets and show up to this tour and realize how amazing rock concerts are and how talented these bands are.
jengd
I think (hope) part of the problem, if indeed there is one, is just the timescale. Diehard fans will arrange their lives around a show but casual sales will not high 7/8 months beforehand I wouldn’t think.

I mean you can call a day off your job 7 months before the show. Circle the date on your calendar.

Maybe that's the reason I mean I don't know, maybe people in The States earn more money and this price is resonable, but from my perspective is like rip-off

My ticket would've been 170 for just one. So I skipped it.
