I guess I should play it first. Anyone wonder if they are gonna do any small shows before this tour? My garage is always available and I am centrally located. I wonder if they will incorporate any shows playing Dookie front to back for it's 25th anniversary ? In order to do like 10 shows around Europe you need like € 2500 and you need to be a little smart. yes I wonder if they do small shows and I’m basically sure they will the questions are just: when, where and how many? I think they will only focus on their new album and their usual greatest hits set, they’ve done Dookie in full already, doing it again would be kinda boring

Your club show wish may come true if they really go independent after this, but who knows. Billie may have been blabbing about what he'd like to do but that doesn't mean he will. Ross_19
If the tour with both Weezer and FOB happens, I would only be alright with that if it didn't shorten the time Green Day performs. Maybe half an hour Weezer, 45 minutes FOB and then GD with their normal set? I'm in the UK anyway so it wouldn't come here, I don't need to be concerned. To those surprised about it, they're with Crush now, a company that is good at making money for their clients even if it is at the cost of the hardcore fans. I'd expect more tours with other bands on Crush. It would be awesome if they came to Europe with SWMRS... I saw them a couple weeks ago at Leeds Fest and they said they'd be back soon, but they've not announced anything. I can dream!

I can dream! that would be cool but i don’t think swmrs wants to be associated with green day, their peers could become jealous and claim nepotism. twin peaks and the frights are the best bands of that age group of guys. swmrs is #3 for me. the frights live energy remind me so much of early green day minus the amphetimines

I agree with this, but I think it'll be a small tour, with a very limited number of dates in America to start. Then, if the album takes off, after they've done a European leg, they'll go back to the States and do a solo tour.

localinsomniac
I'd like to see Weezer live, just separate from GD. If that comes to fruition, it'll be the first time I intentionally skip a tour. I hope someone with ties to Crush is reading this thread.

Star-LordAndTheAve
I don't care for FOB's last few albums, but I love their first 4 or 5 albums. I adore Weezer (though they have for sure had their fair share of musical missteps). I think they'd do a big ass tour in the summer in the US with these bands, but Green Day will for sure have their own club tour with a smaller supporting act (or none at all) right before it. I missed the club shows the last go around, so I'm hoping I'm able to this time. Also, Weezer doesn't really put on that energetic of a show (from what I have seen on YouTube), but they play their songs very well (and just kind of stand there playing until Rivers rides a scooter through the crowd to try to create at least some excitement). I'd definitely prefer Green Day with no opener though.

Christian's Inferno!
Weezer hasn't had a good album since 2002 with the exception of Everything Will Be Alright In The End in 2014. The rest range from average to downright awful. Their 2 most recent attempts (Pacific Daydream and Black album) are among their worsts. Even their good albums though aren't that good imo. None of their albums are any better than a strong 7 out of 10 imo. Fall Out Boy, honestly I find their recent work to be about equal to their early work. I don't think they work well as a pop punk band, if anything I think their poppier stuff is a bit better. They have good songs, meh songs and a couple downright awful songs Idk why we're talking about them being on tour with GD though? Did I miss something? blackplanet
The first 2 Weezer albums are certified classicss (and "Pinkterton" is straight up one of the best alt-rock albums ever) and Green and "Maladroit" are fun too (though not on the same level). They had a long period of...well, uh, ungoodness between "Make Believe" and "Hurley", but "Everything Will Be Alright in the End" and White were pretty solid. "Pacific Daydream", Black and Teal aren't my cup of tea so they're kind of in a rut again. I feel like if they stick mainly to the first 4 albums during their sets, a tour with Green Day would be fine - Weezer aren't bad live. I did however see Fall Out Boy once, all the way back in 2005 at Warped Tour - Patrick was woefully off key. I don't know if it was just a bad day or if he's always shit live, but I kind of just stopped listening to the band after that. I also absolutely detest the direction they took post-hiatus so I don't think I'd want to sit through them... What I'd love to see is Green Day with a newer punk band that's been making waves, like maybe PUP or Spanish Love Songs. That'd be neat. I feel like The Menzingers would be a pretty good pairing too, though they've been around for a while so I wouldn't consider them up-and-coming I guess...but still. lol
