I'm a fan since 21st CB era. I remember waiting for a new upcoming album (trilogy back then) it was like: maybe they will return to their roots, maybe another insomniac - but these were my modest thoughts, but what I wanted most was to experience the hype with other fans, waiting for every news, every leak - for the first time as a die-hard fan. About trilogy I could easily write a book, rage and love, literally 😜 Before revrad era, the same thoughts. Since trilogy was quite poppy I thought on revrad they will go for rawness and epicness. It didn't quite work out but I love revrad. Bands keep saying 'we don't wanna do the same thing again, that's why our sound is different'. I know Green Day have the same approach, but I dare say they're greendayish since... since always - what I mean - they didn't turn into modern pop, electronic rock music. They've been playing rock music since beginning. Warning and Trilogy has got poppy vibe, but they're still a form of rock and roll. Still guitars, bass and drums. Catchy melodies and harmony to it that's what makes GD the best among different (pop)-punk rock bands. And now, obviously something is happening, I really really do have high expectations. as we all do. I'm not waiting for another trilogy or revrad. Really hope for something complex and multi-layered. Something that will blow our minds, don't know what shape would it take but the choir in that 'leak' video sounds amazing. I'm certain that Billie is capable of creating concept album again. After two concept, epic albums (AI, 21st CB) they wanted to make something simple and straightforward. Revrad was something in between. Now it's time to show a new face. During trilogy and revrad era they showed they don't care about promotion and appreciation. They didn't care that a release of three albums in a row is a bad idea from a commercial point of view and they didn't care that they produced an album on their own. My dream album would be like: complexity of compositions with pinch of trilogy lightness and catchiness, something from insomniacs rawness, greasy guitar tone, violin or piano parts, no unnecessary vocal filters Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
